No, really. Friggin' CHAINS

Stephanie Ragusa was arrested a third time on April 28, 2008 and charged with having sex with an underage boy.

First things first. I'd prefer, if guilty, she had a rope around her neck, but the fact of the matter is I don't know all the facts and can't pass judgement. What I can bitch about is the way she's locked up like some sort of violent felon.

Seriously. She's a 26 year old woman of slight build. I can understand some sort of restraint that prevents her from standing up and booking it to the nearest door, but she's chained up like some sort of 300 pound former linebacker accused of ripping a school bus full of nuns in half with his hands, eating said nuns, and then wearing their habits like a diaper.

I'm surprised they didn't put on some sort of hockey mask a la Hannibal Lecter so she can't eat someone's kidneys with a side of fava beans.

Vietnam Vet arrested for pointing his finger like a gun

Vietnam vet Greg Kachka had the chance to turn himself in but refused to do so because he did not believe he had done anything wrong, police said.

..

Kachka claims he pointed at Herrmann after she made faces at him, but did not mean the gesture in a threatening way.

“I look up and there’s Debbie Herrmann making all kinds of goofy faces at me,” Kachka told MyFOXChicago.com. “I didn’t do anything intentional. I talk with my hands a lot.”

So, he wears a USMC Sniper t-shirt ("Don't run. You'll only die tired") and points his finger at someone and that's all that's needed to arrest the guy?

WTF?

I think the death penalty is warranted here

LAKE WALES - While robbing an insurance business Thursday afternoon, a man set fire to two female employees, one of whom was five months' pregnant, according to police. He also shot a man in the face as he tried to help the women.

None of the victims died, but that doesn't change the fact that this goblin tried to murder them. Just because he's lucky doesn't mean he's not deserving of having his birth certificate revoked.

Of course, he had a scary gun. I'm pretty sure that this guy was a volunteer at the homeless shelter and a choir boy and that the gun itself turned him into a violent thug.

Police said a witness at the insurance agency recognized Davis and identified him as a former customer. Davis, who turns 30 today is five months into a three-year probation term.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement criminal records show that Davis, 851 Summer Glen Drive, Winter Haven, was sentenced to probation in July in Polk County after pleading guilty to six counts of grand theft.

On Nov. 30, Polk County sheriff's deputies arrested Davis on a charge of grand theft. He was released three days later after posting $5,000 bail. There was no record on the jail's Web site that showed whether violation of probation charges were filed.

Oops. Guess I was wrong.

I can see a thug shooting someone. He has a gun, gets angry or scared, pulls the trigger. That can happen even if he didn't think he was actually going to use it. But to bring in gasoline??? That's premeditated. The fact that the women and man didn't die (and sadly, the baby had to be delivered at 5 months and the status is unknown, but that's a very, very dangerous situation) has no bearing on the goblin's intent. He meant to kill them which means he's capable of killing others simply for money. If found guilty, the death penalty applies.

I doubt there's going to be calls for greater restrictions on gasoline and matches, though.

You might want to think about a different diet pill

Sometimes, you can’t stop your weight-loss secrets from leaking out.

Dieters have been flocking to drugstores to pick up Alli, the first over-the-counter weight-loss pill to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration, despite the scary warning: Stray too far from your low-fat diet and you just might poop your pants.

Apparently, the pill causes you to not absorb 25% of the fat in foods. So, if you eat more than 42 grams of fat, this might be you

“(I)’ve pooped my pants 3 times today, and sorry to get descriptive but it even leaked onto the couch at one point!” writes one user.

I mean, this article is talking about some guy who invented a new space glove. It's about space. And gloves. And inventors. It has nothing to do with politics. Which you wouldn't be able to tell by this paragraph

Homer summed up the bulk of his research thus: “I spent a lot of time doing this.” He held a single index finger a few inches from a fixed gaze and flexed it up and down, like a late-night stoner, real slow. Homer, who is 45, is a strikingly handsome guy — John Edwards handsome.

I hear he's Bill Clinton cunning, Jimmy Carter caring, and has thighs like Pelosi.

How f*cking obvious does it have to be before lefties admit it?

Tanker fire literally melts bridge

Huge leaping flames from an exploding gasoline tanker melted the steel underbelly of a highway overpass in the East Bay's MacArthur Maze early this morning, causing it to collapse onto the roadway below and virtually ensuring major traffic problems for weeks to come.

The elevated roadway that fell carried eastbound traffic from the Bay Bridge onto Interstates 580 and 980 and state Highway 24. It draped like a blanket over a roadway below, a connector from southbound I-80 to I-880 that also was severely damaged.

The single-vehicle crash occurred on the lower roadway when the tanker, loaded with 8,600 gallons of unleaded gasoline and heading from a refinery in Benicia to a gas station on Hegenberger Road in Oakland, hit a guardrail at 3:41 a.m.

Engineers said the green steel frame of the I-580 overpass and the bolts holding the frame together began to melt and bend in the intense heat

What a bunch of bullshit. Everybody knows fire cannot melt steel. Im.Poss.I.Ble people. Gulf of Tonka.
Gunman takes hostages... at a gun range

The fact that he didn't immediately receive several dozen extra holes in his body might explain why I no longer go to this 'range'

From TBO

TAMPA - A 10-hour hostage situation at a shooting range came to an end about 3 a.m. when Jeffrey Lane Dudney, 42, killed himself. Dale Mabry Highway, which was closed during the tense standoff, is open for the morning commute.

...

Gee said that there were three customers and two employees taken hostage.

Two others in the store were able to flee before being taken hostage, the sheriff said.

There were four men and one woman taken hostage, Gee said.

The woman was a manager and owner of the business, Gee said.

During the standoff, television stations were asked by the sheriff’s office not to give details of the situation.

The reason, said Gee, was the volatile nature of the unfolding events.

“Every two or three minutes he was threatening to shoot people, one by one Gee said. “He was very agitated, very amped up.”

Dudney, said Gee, “came to door several times with a gun to the head of some of hostages.

“Every time we would talk to him, he would bring hostages to door. Some he would throw to the floor, others he used as a shield.”

I wasn't there so I really shouldn't judge, but for God's sake this was a gun range. With guns. And ammo. And several people who should be able to put a 1" grouping in the man's skull while ringing up an hour on lane 5. I used to go there and in order to leave (or walk up front to talk to police), you have to turn your back on the counter. There's nothing immoral about shooting someone in the back. Especially if he threw the hostage to the ground, you'd have a clear shot.

Again, I wasn't there. I know one guy who works there is like 700 years old. I ordered some ammo one time, handed him my card, went to the bathroom and came back and he still hadn't made it back to the register (not a joke). So, I doubt he'd be much use in this situation. But for the love of Smith & Wesson, everyone else in there should have been able to do something.

Adding to the difficulty was the fact that the shooting range was “basically a fortress,” Gee said.

“Doors were welded shut,” he said. “From a tactical viewpoint, it was a most difficult situation.”

The windows were tinted, Gee said, meaning Dudney “could see out and we could not see in.”

I always thought the design was poor. You walk into a small room, turn right, then enter the store. It's hard to see inside that room (which might account for why the other hostages weren't able to help ventilate the goblin). They have two sets of doors, but the inner doors were always propped open (which seemed odd to me as well).

Luckily, nobody except the gunman was hurt. Maybe they could recognize that he was suicidal and probably wasn't really going to hurt them, but I don't think I could just sit there for 10 hours, surrounded with the very tools I need to protect myself, and not do anything.

This is why you should carry 24x7. No place is 'safe' and carrying isn't an inconvenience to your life (you have to balance things out. When you go to the beach, you probably can't CCW your Glock in a Speedo but that doesn't mean you should never go to the beach!).

Man sets meth fire, goes shopping

Jonathan Zaletel, 19, was cooking meth in a bedroom closet about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of North Alma School Road near Ray Road when the fire started, authorities said.

He unsuccessfully attempted to put out the fire by tossing water and window cleaner on it. When that didn't work, he decided to head to a nearby Wal-Mart to buy a fire extinguisher.

Being that this idjit is still drawing breath, Darwin would have changed his mind had he lived in our times.
