She is a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment, a proponent for drilling in ANWAR, and viciously fought against corruption. She also vetoed a bill on banning gay marriage barring same sex couples from receiving health benefits from the stat (edited since I was incorrect on that) even though she herself doesn't support it. This means she understands the limitations government should have. Heck, she's admitted to smoking marijuana, which is a breath of fresh air to finally hear some politician not dodge the question. Watch how little of an issue that ever is.
Now, with all that praise, a word of caution - She's still a politician. The cynic in me feels politicians do what they do to gain power. There's bound to be some story of her clubbing baby seals and smashing down igloos of poor orphans. What matters most, however, is how she conducts herself as a representative (I hate the term "leader"). With approval ratings at times in the 90's, she's likable.
And dammit, she's hot. Being a man in my mid 30's, I'm lucky to be able to find woman ages 18 to 46 attractive, and she is very, very attractive.
However, I don't care about the lack of dangly bits twixt her gams. Ovaries in and of themselves grant her no more qualifications for the job than being half black, all oriental, or taller than the average circus midget. What I like about Sarah are not only her positions on things (many of which she'll have NO bearing on as VP) but her conduct as a politician. I won't vote for Barack Haaaaaaands Across the Water Obama because of the socialist views he has, it matters not one whit if he were Barry Von Whitebread the Third or a former cast member of Roots On Ice.
Sarah wins me over because of her views and not "the view".
So to all those who might take offense at my little bumper sticker, relax. I have a lot of respect for her and honestly, is the only reason I'll be voting McCain come November.
Now that I've assuaged your anger, why not buy a few stickers for the family?
