Ego Assassin asks

I think there is absolutely NO argument when it comes to fighting for “more guns” for citizens. There are PLENTY out there. Go ask the local gang bangers or the thugs that go around knocking over liquor stores. Go ask the idiots who shoot out their own schools with multiple weapons. Is this still not enough?

Can a gun-lover please explain to me where the shortage is? What is the problem here? Why do you need so many guns in so many flavors? Hunting? Shooting range? Is it that important?

I informed him that we're not looking for more guns (well, not for everyone else. I have no problem with getting more guns personally) but less government intrusion in the way of us being able to exercise our rights when it comes to them.

Head over and help him understand better. He's not into banning guns, believes we should be able to own them if we wish, so he appears to be open for understanding.

Is there a trick to commenting? I can't figgure out how to post one. Was at a wedding today and talked a young lady into comming to the range with the Wife and I once I get my ammo stocks back up.

The Mrs. was commenting at how many people we've taken to the range for the first time, and how genuinely interested people are of the shooting sports when you present it on terms of "Hey, do you want to give this a try?" without pressing political or social issues of the matter.

Even if I don't make somebody rush out to their local gunshop to buy an arsenal of their own and start doing the same thing I'm doing, its a victory, because right now Ignorance is the King in the gun control field.

"Why would you need an AK-47?" suddenly doesn't sound so scary when you relize the scads of hunting rilfes and shotguns that most self-proclaimed Anti-gunners claim are OK, are twice or more powerful.

When I tell somebody who's never shot before how relaxing a trip to the range is for me, they don't belive me. They think its all deafining noises and violence, and illiterate white boys sayin' "Yee-Haw" because that's what the news and hollywood tell them.

And of course you always have to include gang-bangers in with us, because Gang Bangers submit to background checks and have carry permits for their guns, and they all love to practice a lot, and take training courses to keep their skills sharp......

I think some injected reason will do this good.

Probably moderated.

This guy has emailed me directly and is interested in reason, so I doubt he's ignoring everyone.

From egoasssassin.com:

"This is a satire commentary, not a serious piece about the 2nd amendment."

And

"Both comments and pings are currently closed."

Heh.

Dang, I had worked up an angle that nobody else had touched upon, how the aesthetics of each weapon are different.

...and the entire post has now disappeared down the memory hole. Did anyone happen to capture a copy?

BTW, Robb, I did see your comment posted, and he responded quite politely to thank you for commenting. If you are directly corresponding with him, does he explain why the post is gone?

My father had a Colt M1911A1 45 ACP parkerized(dull finish) dk brown plastic grips. Since he died it has been left to a fanily member. Present value $ 4000 or so. I was told not to use it since it was rarely used in WWII and has only holster wear. The service weapons are now collector pieces. My father was in the Army Corp of Engineers. It has a lanyard but not a swivel mount
