Well, work finally ended yesterday and I was able to head down to the range to shoot the 6.8 SPC for the first time. It was everything I had hoped for.
I splurged and spent an extra $4 on a muzzle break, and was very happy I did. When you watch the video, notice how little the muzzle moves after each shot.
The recoil was practically nonexistent. While it's hard to tell from the video, it was definitely louder than .223 although it wasn't near the .308 two lanes to the left. I'm not terribly impressed with my cheap Red/Green dot scope, so I may just eventually get a handle / rear sight and just shoot open irons like I prefer.
Because the scope wasn't sighted, the first shots were low and left. Notice the spiffy 9mm hole above my target from the guys next to me (on my right). Someone thought it'd be a great idea to rent a fully automatic MP5. Nice control!
Eventually I got sighted in a bit better. Again, I'm not thrilled with my $60 red dot, but it does get me in the right area.
Here's a couple more random pictures

The last picture is of Greg, who shot the video and was a great partner to have at the range. He also took pictures so we'll have to see how his turned out. He got some "brass in the air" shots, so those should be cool. Update - Here they are!
Totally happy with the rifle. Of course, being an AR I'll have to spend a gajillion dollars on doodads, whatnots, and whatchamacallits but for now, I'm the proud owner of an evil, black rifle of death.
