Tam has the book meme thingie going and open-tagged me

I'm only doing this because I'm a geek.

1. Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. No cheating!
2. Find page 123.
3. Find the first five sentences.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

See how the service is configured to receive messages from the client by studying the configuration in the App.config file of the Receiver project, shown in Listing 4.1. The service is to receive message via the predefined NetMsmqBinding. By virtue of the values assigned to the ReveiveRetryCount and ReveiveErrorHandling properties, messages that cannot be processed will be immediately removed from the queue.

I'm open tagging too. I wasn't actually going to post this, but when I tried it out it was funny how unintelligible that paragraph was outside of any context.

Having read waaaay too many books like that, I contend that those sentences are unintelligible even in context.

People often say things like, "Just get a book and learn how to do it yourself!" I like to read and have pretty good comprehension but for some things (like that) I can't really, and really I can't. Certain things require actual hand-on practice and many failures before the light-bulb of comprehension kicks-in.

Well, if you pick up a technical book of course it'll be technical.
But it works ok for fiction:

"The outer aappearance remained simlar - the black goat hair over sharp dark features - but in the long years since his awakening from the ghola state he had undergone an inner metamorphosis. She wondered now, as she had wondered many ties, what the ghola rebirth-after-death might have hidden in the secret loneliness of him. Before the Tleilaxu had worked their subtle science on him, Duncan's reactions had borne clear labels for the Atreides - loyalty, fanatic adherence to the moral code of his mercenary borebears, swift to anger and swift to recover."

I can't participate in this meme from work, because it would be an OPSEC violation. Maybe this weekend when I'm at home and always have a pile of books within easy reach.
