Are you as confident in the logic and history of the issue as we all were in Kelo v. New London? We know that both were defied in that decision and there was a hell of a lot of logic and history on our side.

I am not nearly so confident in the integrity of our high nine.

well I can actuallly see how the justices got their decision in Kelo. I disagree with it, but I do understand it. The Constitution does say that they can take property so long as they provide "just compensation."

It takes a serious ignoring of the text and historical documents to say that "the right of the people" is actually "the right of state militias" It's equally difficult to come to the conclusion that handguns are not "arms"

If we were to lose Heller it would be the worst SCOTUS decision since Dred Scott.

Yeah, Mike but the issue wasn't just compensation. The issue was public use v. public good. The high nine went for public good, wherein they justified the taking of personal real property from one private individual and gave it to another private individual because the receiver of the stolen property would pay the city more for its use in taxes.

What is now to keep anybody from offering any municipality a bribe if they will steal private property for them?

Further Mike, there is no "just compensation" for property one didn't want to sell but was forced to at gunpoint.
