I also have a Logitech QuickCam and your suggestion above stopped me from pulling my hair out. Thank you! The Thunderbird update just kept on failing and failing and failing, until I unplugged the QuickCam. Sure enough, Thunderbird is happy as a pig in mud now.

Fantastic ! I had this problem too for six months. I have killed the quickcam.exe process and it has worked just fine. Many thanks for your help.

well, the logitech quick cam uses several dlls which conflict with the thunderbird application. By dropping one app, the other app will regain rights & memory and you can use it again. I had this problem with my logitech mouse also.

Hurray. I had this issue and did a quick search. Your post popped up and disabling quickcam.exe did the trick. Thank you :)
