Just LOOK at this quote from an amicus brief filed by the Montana Secretary of State, Brad Johnson, and a some Montana lawmakers

A collective rights decision by the court would violate the contract by which Montana entered into statehood, called the Compact With the United States and archived at Article I of the Montana Constitution. When Montana and the United States entered into this bilateral contract in 1889, the U.S. approved the right to bear arms in the Montana Constitution, guaranteeing the right of "any person" to bear arms, clearly an individual right.

There was no assertion in 1889 that the Second Amendment was susceptible to a collective rights interpretation, and the parties to the contract understood the Second Amendment to be consistent with the declared Montana constitutional right of "any person" to bear arms.

As a bedrock principle of law, a contract must be honored so as to give effect to the intent of the contracting parties. A collective rights decision by the court in Heller would invoke an era of unilaterally revisable contracts by violating the statehood contract between the United States and Montana, and many other states.

I've wondered if I was going to stay in Florida from now on. Granted, I love wearing shorts on Christmas, I'd sure like to see some actual terrain that isn't flat as an ironing board.

Montana might be nice!

Woo-hoo! Secession! Will they give us free land if we fight for Liberty?
I can only hope it spreads to California...

See, that's been my point when the incorporation argument comes up too.

To argue that you may only be able to speak freely in one state, or petition for a redress of grievances if you live in states that allowed it...balderdash!

I'd leave Florida in a heartbeat if the wife would agree. Montana is the land of milk and honey for those of us in the gun culture. Let me know when you're ready to leave.

After spending a few weeks in NW, Montana last fall, I must say that I was thinking of moving there anyway. This kind of thing only reinforces my desire.

Is there any good technical work out there?

Of course, the Mrs. has no desire to live anywhere but in the suburbs. I personally want nothing more than a big, fat Internet pipe and a house a million miles from anyone else on 200 acres where I telecommute every day.

It's a dream, but not really too far out there.

I'd settle for a house with land that backed up to a National Forest that I could get on my dirtbike and go ride 200-miles.
I already telecommute, it's kinda boring and the need to get outside is like cabin fever.

Sign me up for the aforementioned deal.

After living for almost eight years now in Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and Kalifornistan, I miss my snow...
