It got here early.

The Mrs. and I are already hooked. My arm is sore from bowling and I'm all sweaty from boxing.

Any my poor wife's Mii character is the default woman with freckles.

You may hear from me again early May. 2009. Or so.

Sooner than that if your Wii overheats or you accidently throw the Nunchuck controller through the TV screen.

Wii's don't have a heat issue that I know of. I keep mine in a cabinet with no ventilation and it's never felt hot in there.

Now, I will admit that the DVD drive stopped reading discs a couple of months ago. I don't see how heat issues would have affected that. Everything else ran fine on it. I pulled the thing apart, didn't see any obvious problems, put it back together and Nintendo paid shipping to have it repaired under warranty. Then they extended the warranty on it for another full year after the date of repair.

You really can't beat that!

Robb, make sure you hit Nintendo.com and ask for some more of those Wii "honycomb" sleeve things they're shipping now. Your console probably came with one, mine didn't as I got it about a year ago. They're free AND kick the crap out of anything 3rd party on so many levels. I can't believe I wasted good money on the 3rd party stuff before Nintendo started offering these things up.

Wii Sports is a heck of a lot of fun. For a couple of months I started doing the Wii Fitness thing in it when I got home from work. It's fun for a while.

Rayman's Raving Rabbids and Wario Ware are pretty fun games too. Especially if you and your wife ever entertain guests. The two of you can play through them and unlock all the games... then you can let guests play them when they come over. They're both hilarious to watch. Rayman is easily the better of the two thought.

Mario Party games have always seemed a little stupid to me, but we played it for 6 hours with my family on Christmas this year. The new control schemes make the mini games in it a little more interesting.

Justin,

Can you get more of the "honeycomb" sleeves for free if your system already shipped with them? And how many can you get?

Yeah, I couldn't find any link anywhere for the sleeves. I'd definitely like another because it is more comfortable to hold, although I can pick one up at Best Buy for only a few bucks.

My suggestion would be to buy Rampage. I get such a great feeling of satisfaction every time I swing the controller to pick someone up, and then press the A to drop them in my mouth. First person shooters and such just can't compare to being a giant lobster, wreaking havoc throughout Las Vegas.
