A while ago my wife and I saw a commercial for some popcorn place. We both love it and the commercial was a bunch of people raving about how good it was, yadda yadda yadda. Now, we love popcorn but were skeptical that anything you ordered online could be worth a darn. However, this place was offering two free bags at the time so she went ahead and ordered some.
That was the worst mistake she has ever made.
What we got in the mail were two bags of popcorn from Dale and Thomas popcorn. Specifically Butter Toffee and Walnut Crunch and Chocolate Chunk N'Caramel.
We started with the toffee. It was pretty good, surprisingly high quality from the Internet. Really sticky on the teeth, though. While pretty good, it wasn't the taste explosion the people on the commercial were saying.
But then we tried the Chocolate Chunk N'Caramel.
Oh. My. Sweet. Heavenly. Lord...
It nearly brought tears to my eyes and that's not an exaggeration. I love food. I love things that taste wonderful. I found manna in a foot long bag. The popcorn was perfectly done. No unpopped kernels, no hard pieces, and just the right amount of salt. The caramel was perfect. No other caramel popcorn could match this stuff, at least nothing I had ever tried. Then, throw in huge chunks of ultra creamy chocolate and...whew... I'm going to need to take a break.
So, we ordered some as Christmas gifts. And one of every kind they have for ourselves.
So far, it's only gotten better.
The first one we tried was the Country Smokehouse Cheddar. Smooth, creamy, smokey... Gawwwd it's so unbelievable. The hickory smoke is perfectly balanced and not overpowering.
The next one was Dale's Caramel Corn. The best caramel corn I've ever eaten in my life, period.
And just tonight, while the Mrs. is out with the oldest, I opened the bag of Peanut Butter & White Chocolate DrizzleCorn. I swore I heard angels sing. I literally had to use all my willpower to put the bag down so the wife would have some. I don't think I've eaten any desert more enjoyable than that in a long time (with the possible exception of the Chocolate Chunk N'Caramel).
Folks, it's pricey for popcorn, but if you get a chance I highly recommend that you try some of this stuff. Unbelievable popcorn, and I don't praise food lightly.
Just make sure you stay away from my bag. I am heavily armed, you know.
