I absolutely plan on heading to the 2A Blog Bash, but there's no need to spend money on things I don't need like a private room.
Any guys out there want to split a room?
Warning, I snore.

Any idea how much the rooms are going for.I'd love to go but I'm a bit financially stretched at the moment. Sharing a room may be just the ticket for getting the trip out of "won't be able to eat for six months" range and just into the realm of "boy is the wife going to be pissed about this".I can't commit, though, until I'm sure about what the cost will be and recover from the resultant spousal abuse.

Wow.You really are opening yourself up for some hilarious jabs with the roommate plea you cheap-o.Overheard - "I love keeping myself warm with the two pillows. What?! Those aren't PILLOWS"!Some anti-gun racist may try to lure you into a snare of lies and deceptions. You may end up pregnant...EXTRA - SAAM will shine your shoes with every new hotel roomate! And he may even toss your marbles!YoYo Yo - "Wanna be my Roomy?" i.e.Prison Bitch. They say our love is taboo, that what we're doin' is wrong,But I don't care what they say, 'cause my love is so strong. They tell us we should be ashamed, we're not husband and wife,But I cherish each moment with you; I'm so glad you're in my life. You're my prison bitch, my prison bitch, you're not like other men.I'm glad we share a prison cell when lights go out at ten.I can't escape the way I feel, now that would be a crime. As long as I am doin' you I don't mind doin' time.Cause you're my prison bitch, my prison bitch, and I have no regrets.I got you for a candy bar and a pack of cigarettes. At first you were resistant, but now you are my friend.I knew that I would get you in the end . . . . Editors' note: "Prison Bitch" is a song about prison rape, heard on the Bob & Tom Show on radio station WFJX, FM 105.7.

Robb,I should be going along so if you are in need of a roomie, let me know. My room was $98 a night. I booked for two nights (May 16-18). Somehow, I serious doubt an anti-gunner will be attending this and open themselves up to the possibility of seeing and being in the same room with an evil, baby killing death machine.

They range from $99/night to $145/night pre-tax at the discounted rates. The cheapest is actually the closest hotel, too. I suggest reserving now, and if you need to cancel or modify a reservation, you have plenty of time to do it. Canceling a month or so before the event costs nothing, but not reserving one early has significant costs.

I know the distance for the Executive West says six blocks, but the hotel is right at the front gate of the fairgrounds. It's a pretty good walk to the exhibition halls.Parking at the Fairgrounds is $5/day. Food and beverages inside are HIGH. However, I recommend the porkchop sandwiches at the Pork Producers Kiosks. If your looking for less exspensive and don't mind a little driving, look South on I-6510 miles south of Fairgrounds on I-65 and Brooks Rd.Comfort Inn $70/night (502) 957-6900Quality Inn and Suites $70/night (502) 955-6272Hampton Inn $99/night (502) 957-5050Group rates may be available. It would take several to commit to one location. These are just the first three that come up. There's a Holiday Inn Express just opened up there. The "more results" link brings up several more. Be sure to check a map for location. The entire area, including Brooks may be considered Shepherdsville.google: hotels Brooks KYNot as convenient as staying by the fairgrounds, byt $30/night less expensive buys some inconvenience. Straight shot up the interstate takes 15-30 minutes (rush hours) Shepherdsville proper is about 10 more miles. I'm happy to help anyone out if you need some local input. email me at greatbluewhale AT insightbb DOT com.
