This comment cracks me up
The reason gun nuts are the laughing stock of the sentient universe is that there is no more transparent intellectual dishonesty than that of pro-gun propaganda. Is it because if you were honest with everyone, you'd be forced to admit you all want guns because you're cowardly bullies consumed by crippling sexual inadequacy, and don't think anyone's life is worth more than your inconvenience? Who can blame you? That doesn't sound quite as noble as all the phony posturing about defending oneself and imaginary rights and bogus cause and effect, does it?

This is what is usually presented as Reasoned Discourse in the anti-rights world.
The best part is an argument like that falls apart instantly. While I'm normally a prude, I don't mind telling the world I have no problems in bed. Not only that, some of the medication I take has impotence as a side effect, and that still doesn't stop the private from standing at attention.
So, I don't suffer crippling sexual inadequacy.
Next, I'm a "cowardly bully". Show me a single time I've used my gun to bully someone. Hell, for that matter, show me a single instance where I've bullied someone at all. You won't be able to. So, that part of the argument is false too. Not doing so well are we, Steve?
As far as what your life is worth to me? Not a lot, if anything at all, and I only support your right to make your own choices in life because I want to make my own choices. And Steve, you don't give a leaping fuck about other people either. That's phony posturing. I find that the people who care the least are those who voice how concerned they are with other's lives. Me? I better my society (again, at the betterment of my own life) by donating what I can and helping others.
But alas, I cannot control other people's lives and therefore detach my emotional commitment from them because of it. What I don't do is fake like I "care" and then try to strip away rights from those I supposedly care so much for.
As for "imaginary rights", I would venture a guess that Steve doesn't consider Freedom of Speech imaginary although it too lacks in the tangibility department.
This is what the anti-rights side has to offer. But I'm glad they have a megaphone and a soapbox because each day, we win more people over to our side when they hear their message.
