Seems like Ms. Robyn Ringler* is deleting my comments on her blog posts. When I brought it up that my comments seemed to have been deleted, it got deleted.

It's a shame that gun control advocates can't play fair. They have to resort to lies, deception, fear-mongering, and controlling the narrative in order to push their agenda, which deep in their hearts they know to be wrong and foolhardy, but in their desire to do something, nay anything, they lash out against the one thing they have minimal control over.

I posted the following on Robyn Ringler's* blog

Shame on you, Robyn. I posted a comment regarding a perfectly valid web resource and, because it damages your opinion, you deleted it.

Is this what you anti-gun types have to resort to? Deleting comments in an attempt to stifle the opposition? Too bad I have Google and a nice screen capture utility because I'm taking a shot of this as soon as I post it and putting it up on my site. You take this down again, and at least it will show the hypocrisy of the gun control movement. You guys have no leg to stand on unless you completely control the conversation because you know we're right.

Any way, my original post (before it was deleted) pointed to a wonderful resource by Clayton Cramer - http://www.claytoncramer.com/gundefenseblog/blogger.html - which shows story after story of guns used in self defense. This damages the gun control lobby's position that guns are of no use.

Hopefully this comment will stay up, but if you delete it that's ok. I'll have a screen capture on my blog along with the full text of this comment for Google searchability.

If you're going to chicken out and delete comments, you should just shut them down entirely.

However, I don't expect it to stay up since it contains data that deeply damages her opinion. But just in case, here's a screen capture I took immediately after posting the comment. Let's see if the threat of being called is enough to keep it up.

Face it, Robyn Ringler* - you can't beat us with logic, open discussion, and reasoned discourse. You're going to have to moderate your comments before they get posted or simply shut them down all together, both of which show exactly how weak your position is.

And I'm going to make sure every person on the planet can see your chicanery.

Updated - Gone already. Look at that.

*editor's note - I had a brain fart and referred to Ms. Ringler as Ms. Miller. When you deal with so many gun control advocates, you start to confuse them- all their arguments look the same to me anyway.

I posted a link to this blog post in her comments so fence sitters might get to read your comments. I wonder how long it will last.

Its gone! Wow she is fast with the delete button.

I've had the majority of my posts deleted on her blog. However the universal troll JadeGold gets through all the time.

Longhorn: The actual posts don't show up until she updates the blog and approves them. That has sometimes taken days.

You might as well add a disclaimer to your blog saying "don't bother posting if you don't agree with me."

In any event, she can't monitor the thing 24/7....

She must be at lunch ... my comment is still there almost an hour after I posted it ...

Oh, and it isn't Miller, it's Ringler. She musta got herself hitched or something.

Not sure about that Greg. It appears I might be able to see my own comments when I post them, but nobody else until they are approved by her.

Either way, I'm calling Robyn Miller out as someone who can't argue based on facts since she won't allow comments without filtering them first.

I understand the need to remove abusive or profane comments, but even when you do, you should always indicate that you have done so and for what reasons.

She's deleted quite a few of mine. Mostly the ones calling her or JadeGold out on made-up facts or selective editing in replies.

I posted one (that got through) showing some blatant lieing by Gonzo. I was trying to be civil. Since she keeps advocating that site, it shows where her true intentions lay, no matter how many times she says she doesn't care about legitimate ownership. Sounds similar to another new anti-gun screed site we've been following.

I left her a comment too, but I don't expect it to be left up long.

I sympathize... my rather massive comment was summarily deleted without even an explanation. Unfortunately for her, she cannot delete things from own personal weblog, so my response to her is there, now.

It is sad that her own beliefs are insufficiently strong to withstand the beliefs of others being expressed.

I've noticed that I can see my comments when I post them over there, but all comments don't become visible until they're approved. The post about the "army sniper" who shot his wife is one example - I posted 3 comments in a row, but later when I looked and comments had been approved, they were interspersed with other people's comments. I've not noticed any of mine disappear though.

I think in her mind, there's no such thing as legitimate gun ownership by civilians.

Funny that you assume her deleting rubbish that gun control advocates have dealt with a hundred thousand times is about censorship, rather than just an unwillingness to deal with the same tired old BS from one more NRA zombie gunnutter.

No sensible person has time to deal with the hundreds of morons out there recycling the idiotic "but guns is just a tool, yuk yuk" and "but cars kills people too, let's outlaw them!" mantras of the NRA brain dead.

You simply point the fools in the direction of accurate information (regarding Cramer's self-defense claims, see David Hemenway's book, which has a long discussion of the issue, with analysis of scholarly studies that have been done) and go about your ordinary business--which is making facts available to reasonable people.

It goes without saying that many if not most of the gunnutter population are not in the category of 'reasonable people' so they are not the intended audience. If they therefore insist on blurting out stupidities, then it's perfectly reasonable for the blogger to delete them.

Oddly Alex, your comment here - replete with errors, lack of facts or links, and laden with insults, will stay put.

Because I think that reasonable people can read us both and determine who has a better grip on reality.

I'm glad you think of us as brainless, unintelligent beings. I'm glad you think that there is no need to discuss the issues with us and just dismiss us outright. I'm glad that, even though the score could be us, 28, you 3 - you feel justified in claiming victory and walk off the field.

Because you do not help yourself or your position at all and only strengthen ours.

Hence, why I won't touch your comment. I don't fear you, I don't fear your position, and I think your diatribe should be visible for the world to see. If our posts are so "out there", why the fear of leaving them up so that reasonable people can see them?

Please, let me know the error of my ways regarding the gun not being a tool. Show me how the gun itself manages to make me do things against my will. Show me a single instance of a totally law abiding citizen turning to a life of crime simply because of a gun.

This should be interesting.

Alex, I don't have time to read David Hemenway's book right now. Can you tell me if he refutes:

The claim of the woman I married to have driven off a home invader by the use of a handgun?

The claim of a college friend who did civil rights organizing in Texas during the '60s to have deterred a beating by Klansmen by displaying a handgun?

The claims of a man I worked for for 22 years or of a man I purchased several tons of carbon steel plate from to have deterred muggings by displaying handguns?

Oddly enough, Alex, Robyn seems to leave up all the factually incorrect posts by JadeGold and yourself yet tends to delete those questioning those facts. Can you present evidence that all the posts she deleted are "just the same NRA talking points"?

So far you've yet to present any "facts". Why don't you show some and then we'll talk. Oh, wait, no we won't. You don't allow comments on your blog and just present ad hominems and insults in your posts.

Additionally, Alex seems to have some sort of obsequious fascination w/ Hemenway. I guess studies completely funded by anti-gun groups like the Joyce Foundation and George Soros are the best at being "non-biased" right?

He likes bringing up Lott. OK. Fine. I'll bring up Bellesiles. You know, the anti-gun professor at Emory University who had his Bancroft award stripped and was forced to resign because he completely fabricated his data?

BTW, Alex, I am insulted to be called an NRA zombie, as I consider them to be a wishy washy compromise organization which would be better off sticking to the sporting and education functions they were founded for. If you are going to call me a zombie, call me a JPFO zombie.
