I got to do a product shoot this weekend. I took some pictures of a packaging machine for a flyer. Not bad work as it only took 15 minutes! Products are easier than people. They don't tend to move and you only need to take a few pictures from a few angles. They don't have 'good sides', don't blink, and they don't have a half assed smile.
So, 15 minutes and I'm out of there. No biggie. The only thing I had to do is remove the machine from the background. Time to put my Photoshop masking skills to work. Lord, did I not realize what a job I had to do. Unlike people, who tend to be solid with few holes that show the background, this thing was all wires and poles. To make life worse, behind it were other machines.
I guess I'll be earning that money by working a little harder than I thought ;) I've already got one view down, two more to go...
