I got a Mac G5 at work to write some code on. We've got graphics people who need to get stuff in and out of our databases / external application. So, I'm writing scripts for Illustrator and Photoshop so that the pretty pixel pushers don't have to think beyond color theory.
It's got one of those super huge, 23" monitors. And it sure is purdy!
They had to give me a bib to work on it. I drooled on how pretty the UI is, how nicely everything slides in and out of your way. Pretty easy to move around from application to application. And of course, a metric buttload of eye candy.
Now, I'm not a Mac hater, even though I've been a PC guy since the dawn of time. But this, this magnificent machine is something else. Even a single day of fooling around with it made me think about getting one (especially since it can run Windows if I need it to, and I would).
'Cept the cheapest I can get one would be $3,500.00 (with the stuff I'd need).
No thanks. For that much I could get much more PC. I'll just stick with the pretty thing on my desk at work for the time being.
Now, an iMac... That's a bit different.
