I’ve been perusing Congress.org to find information on the candidates I will get the joy of pulling the lever for. Do you know who is running and what they stand for? Do you even know what districts you are in?
Here’s a quick tip for all politicians – if you don’t have a website where (a) all your policies are outlined in clear, easy to read format and (b) your email address or contact page is available, you will not get my vote. Period. If you can’t manage a website you sure as hell can’t manage the keys to the government.
I’m pickled tink knowing Jeb Bush is out the door. He’s a complete disaster for Florida with a few exceptions (notice how when we get ravaged by hurricanes, shit gets fixed without the national guard?). Hopefully, the governor candidates will be provide a better selection to choose from (hell, we’ve even got a nut-case socialist running!).
I’ll be happy to attempt to kick Adam Putnam out of office. I’ve not been enamoured with his voting record and while he actively responds to my letters (or his office, either way my voice is being heard), I’m not comfortable with keeping him in power. There are independents I get to choose from, one who is a fruit-cake environmentalist and another that seems to be on par. Adam may have started out small, but it looks like he’s been infected with big money. Politicians and diapers should be changed often, for the same reason.
Anyway, I laugh at the idiots at work who bitch and moan about Bush, but cannot even tell me what congressional district they live it and who their state representatives are. You know, the people who make decisions that impact their lives more than the POTUS. Don’t be an idiot. Here is the information you need. Learn a little about your candidates. Vote those into office who you think most closely represents your views. And if you’re voting a candidate out, make sure you send them a letter detailing why. The government can’t fix itself if it doesn’t know what the problems are.
