I can type faster and more accurately if I close my eyes.
I don’t know why this is. I guess it’s because it forces me to visualize the keyboard more strongly. I don’t look at the keyboard anyway while I type, so it’s kind of odd. And it’s not just closing my eyes; if I don’t look at what I’m typing (such as looking at other things on my desk or staring off into the distance) my typing speed and accuracy goes up.
It’s a hard habit to break though. That’s why I tend to close my eyes when typing long sentences as it prevents me from actually looking back at the screen.
Plus I look like some sort of way cool, Zen master.
