Now, I'm sure I'm not the only one who realized there was only 4 posts for the entire previous week. Well, according to my hit counter, I might actually be the only one, but that's beside the point. I pretty much write to hear myself talk anyway.
So, I'm sure the question has been raised "Robb, just what the hell have you been doing?" The answer? A lot, actually. So much in fact that I've specifically targeted blogging as something to drop off of doing as it was, in the scale of things, less important that so much other stuff I had to do in life.
First, I've been uber-busy at work. Projects and deadlines keep piling up, and I can't blog in good faith when I know there are things I'm getting paid to do. The downtime I get at work is usually spent relaxing my mind a little, and writing witty blog posts simply doesn't come easy when I'm trying to de-stress.
Second, I was supposed to give a speech at the Orlando Code Camp this Saturday. Didn't happen. Ended up hurting my back and neck so bad I couldn't drive. I'm still in quite a bit of pain, but it still is a depressing episode in my life as I feel I let a bunch of people down.
Third, it's wedding season. I've pretty much had an event every weekend for over a month. This upcoming weekend is a break, and then it's back in business for a while. While the weddings themselves only take up a few hours of a day, pruning the resulting photographs and prepping them takes a considerable amount of time (time that only happens after I get the kids in bed).
But I want to blog more. I really do. I read my archives here and there and realize that I do have a good time with blogging. I try to stay away from politics now because it's a futile effort. You won't change people's minds and those who do agree with you are labeled 'echo chamberists'. Not worth my time.
Finally, the one thing that has suffered more than my blogging is my brewing. That's what I'm doing 2 batches this month to make up for the fact that I am literally out of beer. *Sigh*
See ya around.
