Heard Irelyn crying on the monitor early this morning (a little bit before 5 am). Normally she doesn’t wake up to eat until closer to 6, but babies aren’t known for their ability to tell time. I heard my wife (eventually) get up and leave the room which kicked in my ‘go back to sleep mode’.

30 seconds later she’s yelling for my help.

Turns out, 7 month old Irelyn decided to heave herself over the edge of her crib. 7 months old.

Did I mention she’s only 7 months old and figured out how hoist herself above the side rail to get out of her crib? She can’t even walk yet (not from a lack of trying, I assure you) and we already have to worry about her leaping out of her crib.

Irelyn is OK. Even though it’s a two or three foot drop, she didn’t seem to be physically hurt. A little scared for sure, but nothing broken or bruised. As for the Mrs. and I, we’re still wrecks.
