No, you're not having a nightmare. Sharp as a Marble is still here, just running under a new blgging engine and a new skin.
Welcome to
Subtext, a fork of the .Text blogging software by
Scott Watermasysk. I had originally been using .Text and made several modifications myself when I was approached by
Phil Haack who asked if I wanted to help take up where Scott left off when he went to work for Telligent Systems. I said sure knowing damn well Phil had no idea what he was getting himself into by having me on the team.
Subtext isn't ready for public consumption yet, we're still hammering out the final details, but as I was having issues with my old site, I went ahead and installed it so I could get some real world testing in. When it is ready, like .Text before it, it will be free. And let me tell you, this is a pretty well written machine if I do say so myself.
The skin you are seeing now is called Key West (slate) and is designed by yours truly. The header photograph is mine as well taken in, you guessed it, Key West, Fl. Instead of starting the skin from scratch, I used another skin, Piyo by Simone Chiaretta, as a base so I have to give coding credit to Simo. I was going to roll with my original skin, Paperweight, but I didn't realize how much I had hacked it to get it to work and there's still a lot that needs to be done to make it function in the new environment. Both Key West and Paperweight will be skins available with Subtext.
Anyway, take a look around. I may have upgraded the software and look, but I assure you the content still sucks just as bad. So, let me know what you think (hey, my contact form is now working too!) and enjoy.
