Looking through my email, I see that Jeff from Protein Wisdom asked some of us to help spread the word of one of his posts, Identity Politics, Free Speech, and the Future of worldwide Liberalism, 2: a follow-up. This is a subject near and dear to his heart and wants discussion, from both sides of the aisle, so the more people he can garner, the better.

I have no idea how my 7 readers will affect his hit count, but a man’s gotta try to help his brethren out.

My view? I agree with most of what he says, or at least the parts I understand. Jeff sometimes writes at a level that is a bit above my head simply because he discusses items he is well versed in and I am not. But Identity Politics to me is one of the worst crimes we continually commit against ourselves as a society. The current shit-storm over the relatively benign Danish cartoons of Mohammed illustrates this point.

Which is what Jeff is trying to say, so I’ll leave it at that.
