I had a wedding to shoot tomorrow. I just found out I will be there by myself. The only camera.
I’m reeeeealy nervous.
Not about my ability to shoot pictures, I can do that with my eyes closed (picture quality may vary). I’m nervous because I’m not versed in the “Ok, Bride on the left, ok smile. Groom, grab her ass and make her smile” posed pictures. I’m a photojournalist and my style is different.
Luckily for me, one of the ladies from the photography company will be there to help direct. The posed stuff is easy to shoot as it really only requires you to put the camera on a tripod and check lighting, but getting the right shots (Bride & Groom, Bride’s family, Groom’s family, w/kids,w/grandparents, just the flower girl, blah blah blah) isn’t something I know by the book…. yet….
Plus, if I can nail this one, I’ll start getting more $ per hour plus more weddings. I’ve shot as main camera before, just never solo. Well, I shot my sister’s wedding, but that was different. I know they like my photography style because many of my shots are used in their promotional items and their website. Plus they keep giving me jobs, so that’s got to count for something.
And besides, how else would they get great shots like this?
