Went to the doctor’s this morning. While I was in the waiting room, there was a group of Hispanics talking about their problems in complete Spenglish. It was fun to listen to because it reminded me of growing up. My Dad’s family would always switch mid sentence between English and Spanish, usually Spanish for the punch lines to dirty jokes.
These people definitely looked the stereotypical part of Hispanics. But when they spoke in English, you could barely tell an accent. And two of them wore patriotic shirts (one about pay back for 9/11) and others either had American flag pins or hats. It’s nice to see people take pride in their country even when they were obviously not native.
Then the bugs attacked.
The doctor’s office has one wall entirely in glass. Apparently bugs are attracted to waiting rooms because every few seconds you’d hear one feverishly attempt to fly straight through the window. As I watched the bugs, I realized how dumb they really are. When they couldn’t fly through the glass, they’d turn around and try to fly through a concrete pillar. When that didn’t work out for them, they’d try to get in the waiting room again.
Stupid bugs….
