I was corrected on something several years ago by this guy and ever since then, when someone else makes the same mistake it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me now.
When you are not feeling well to your stomach you are NOT nauseous!!!!! You are nauseated!
The word nauseous is akin to noxious - meaning "causing nausea" not "afflicted with nausea". From Dictionary.com
Usage Note: Traditional critics have insisted that nauseous is properly used only to mean “causing nausea” and that it is incorrect to use it to mean “affected with nausea,” as in Roller coasters make me nauseous.
So the next time someone tells you that they're nauseous, make sure you let them know they don't make you sick.
Pay attention. There will be a test on this later.
