John Cole over at Balloon Juice serves up this juicy bit of irony.
For the past four years on Black Friday, three Newark sisters have been trekking to the Christiana Mall to celebrate a global anticonsumerism movement called "Buy Nothing Day." This year, they got arrested after police asked the women to leave.
Anna White, 30, said she and her sisters Laura, 28, and Rachel, 25, and their friend Terri Carter went to the mall about 11:30 a.m. Friday on their annual junket to not shop.
They were dressed in Santa hats and white T-shirts printed with the words "NOTHING - What you've been looking for." The back of the shirts read: "Ask me about NOTHING."
John pokes fun at the dingbats' picture, but I'd like to point out some delicious irony that the fruitcake girls seem to miss, namely all the items of consumerism they are supporting while trying to unsupport consumerism

Also not listed on this picture would be the house they are taking the picture in, assorted feminine products and other clothing, the camera needed to take the picture, the electricity needed to provide the light bulbs used to light the scene, the D-cell batteries as well as the dildo needed to provide them with probably the only action they'll ever get, medicine for their aches and pains, the paper and assorted printing needs for their flyers and signs, food, toilet paper, shoes, other makeup (although grinning-santa bitch looks like she cuts corners when considering the purchase of Clearasil or any Accutane products), etc. etc.
I disagree with Cole in that these bints need to not only NOT have their speech stifled, but I say we let them purchase a bullhorn to get it out louder. Which only makes it even more ironic.
