(UPDATE(s) at bottom of post)
Hudson has been rather icky the last two days, just laying around being very lethargic. He has kind of moaned when petted rather than purr. He's puked a lot and hasn't eaten anything which for him is very, very odd.
The Mrs. is dropping him off at the vets right now to get some tests run. I'm praying it's nothing more than a cat-cold or something innocuous.
Hudson has lost a lot of weight lately, but I've chalked it up to the fact that he hasn't had access to his food because we put it on the counter throughout the day to keep Betty from eating it. I hope I'm right about that. I'm not sure I could deal with losing him as he's been the best cat anyone could ever ask for.

Wish him luck.
{UPDATE}
The vet just called. Hudson is suffering some sort of bad GI irritation and there was blood in his stool which isn't a good sign. He was also very dehydrated which scares me because I know he has drank a lot of water over the past 2 days.
What frightens me the most is that his symptoms are the same as my dog Kali right before we had to put her down. Constant vomiting, massive weight loss, sunken in eyes.
I can't tell you how much this cat means to me. He is the type of cat that even cat-haters would love. You can pick him up whenever you want. Call his name and he'll come. Georgia can body slam him and he won't even complain.
Blech. The rest of my day is really going to suck. Hopefully the vet won't call back because a call back means something is very bad.
{UPDATE II}
The doctor called back. Hudson has gone into respiratory distress which is not good at all. Right now, it is not looking good for my little kitten. Somehow I'm having to plod through the rest of my day since I have a late meeting I have to attend instead of going home.
{UPDATE III}
Called the vet again. He said that Hudson's breathing had gone back to normal after they administered some oxygen (he had respiratory acidosis and needed to get the excess CO2 of his lungs). Once that was under control they were able to administer fluids via an IV and he started getting better.
The doc thinks that he must have consumed something volitile at home. We do use bug spray but we've been using the same stuff for years. Who knows? Whatever it was, it caused his liver to go into hyperdrive. The Xray didn't show anything wrong with his lungs, so that was good. The doc said that if he continues to get better on the IV overnight that they'll try to feed him some liquids in the morning then solid foods later in the day and see if he holds it down. If so, he'll more than likely come home on Saturday. If not, they'll need to keep him over the long weekend until his strength is back.
When Kali was going through her final days (she had cancer in her stomach which was causing her to starve to death) the doc wasn't as chipper as he was when discussing Hudson so this is a good sign. Thanks to those of you out there praying for him, he means so much to me and I dont want to have to host the Carnival of the Cats in two weeks as a memorial service! He's not in the clear yet, but it definite sounded better at 5:00 than at 2:00!
