As soon as I see the words Kerry and anything pertaining to Viet Nam or Swift in either the headline or description of a blog in my RSS reader, I automatically skip it.

Hell, I've had enough. The fever in the blogosphere reminds me of the coverage of the Iraq war - a bunch of people talking to fill time in between bomb footage. Ocasionally you get to see something interesting, but other than that it's a lot of the same.

I think the SBVFT campaign is brutal and far from over. I think O'Neill has so many tricks up his sleve that Kerry is just going to have to face the music in order to get him to go away (which would completely ruin his chances at the presidency). And I'm already tired of hearing about it. I would much prefer to talk about the issues.

Anyone know what the issues are? Listening to Kerry it's about Nam, and Bush's take on the issues are "hey, I'm doing a good job, dontcha think?"

I'm at the same point. It is all nonsense in a vacuum now.

And here I just posted how it was getting out of hand. If they'd only just ignore the ad, it wouldn't be getting the response it had.

I'm more interested in a candidates stand on the issues, his record (if he has one) in the intervening years between Viet Nam and now.

People do grow up now.

Just visited Captain's Quarters. Read top post and comments.

Strike "Not" from the beginning of my previous post's last sentence, and everything after "tar."

I think O'Neill has something that is flat-out radioactive tucked in his pocket, just waiting to drop it on Kerry's head. Everything interesting between now and then will revolve around MSM performance after being dragged screaming into the game.

I don't doubt that at all TC. I've read the sheet music, I've watched the dance. The crescendo is yet to come.

I personally think one of two things. One, O'Neill has been playing this at such an expert level that it appears almost as pure luck, or Two: it IS pure luck that Kerry is playing into their hands.

For all the discussion of character smearing (it's odd that many have no problem smearing the SBVFT but find it repulsive when turned around) the Kerry campaign has handled this in the most piss poor method ever seen. I don't understand why so many people need to come to his aid when he's the one kicking himself in the nuts.

But in the end, I'm tired of this already. I'm not voting for Kerry. If I get too pissed at Bush, I'll vote Libertarian, so these ads have no effect on me. The constant sniping between left and right is reaching a fevered pitch and these ads aren't helping.

I think his bomb has something to do with either Kerry's sitdown with VC honchos in Paris back in the day, or something someone dug out of all those old Soviet espionage files that were turned loose years back. Not something on a par with "Manchurian Candidate" tar, more like his group's operating dough back then was dollars converted from rubles.
