Sharp as a Marble

I survived. It was rough, but somehow I managed to get through vacation without Internet connectivity or email! And, judging by the amount of comments and email I got, I should go away more often. Maybe this blog suffers from the same thing Kerry does. I get more popular when I keep my yap shut!

Anyway, as I pour through the mail and comments, it came to my attention that some of these nuggets of wisdom dropped by others are too good to keep buried in the past, so I shall bring them to light here!

First, from Virgil who was apparently irritated with the Kerry Thorne post

Sender: Virgil Judy
Email: XXXX
IP Address:

=====================================
To whom it may concern:

Why are you bringing up Kerry's divorce that was some 16 years
ago?

Why is Kerry bringing up his 16 week stint in 'Nam which was way more than 16 years ago?

Are you just a "Diehard Republican" or what?

I think the government should stay out of our lives, that the taxes we pay should be minimum, that charity should never be done at gunpoint, that the nation's defense should be a top priority, and that suing McDonald's because you're fat is one of the most asinine things I've ever heard. Make of that what you will

Why don't you go find the scoup on George Bush?
He really never served in the service to really count.
Even though he may have been in the Air National Guard as a
fighter pilot, he was so drugged up and so drunk at various times
that he could not pass those physicals to fly the plane.  He may
not have ever got off the ground.

Wow! I did not know that! Glad you brought those facts up! I'm sure the lack of links backing up your assertions was an accident on your part and that you'll be emailing me them soon. I can't wait to read them! And is scoup anything like soup? I like soup!

What's more?

The mind tingles in anticipation.

Don't talk about commander-in-chief!
Want to talk about being in battle?  Who was on the battlefield?
John Kerry that is who!
George W. Bush was never on a battlefield and he did not risk his
life for anyone.

Yes, you are correct. Fighter planes are totally 100% safe. No one has ever died simply flying a plane. I don't count John Denver because I think it was a conspiracy by the Republicans to kill off folk music. Now, you've gotta admit that Clinton had one hell of a military record!

There are 525 reasons I can explictly state on why to not elect
GWB, but I would not give any of you what they are.  That is
reserved for another day and a special time.

I have 526 reasons to not vote for Kerry. Most of them center around his hair being too 'French' looking. I'm more than happy to swap reasons with you, although it looks like I've still got one more than you. I'll consider swapping that one with a good cheese fondue recipe.

It is amazing how corrupt the Bush connection is.  So, why don't
you really look into that and you will be very surprised what you
find.  Got the guts!  Girlie men!  Dick Cheyne with 5 deferments!
Better do your homework!  This stuff on divorce is nothing.  Many
people get divorced and it just happens.  People sometimes over-
react to what may have happen and just divorce anyway and just
sometimes never give their partners the benefit of a doubt.

VJ

I'm not sure who Dick Cheyne is, but I think he played the part of Tattoo in Fantasy Island on Ice on Broadway. Maybe you can help me with those corrupt Bush connections because I'm having a hard time getting a good bead on them. I mean, yeah, he was in the oil business and there's oil in Iraq, but that's about as good as I can come up with. Maybe if you could provide actual, factual evidence of corruption you could get him impeached.

Whew! Responding to all this email has made me tired. I need a vacation again (that way, I can get MORE email). Glad to be back, and God bless!
