From the 9/11 commission report

Bin Ladin and Islamist terrorists mean exactly what they say: to them America is the font of all evil, the “head of the snake,” and it must be converted or destroyed.

And all this time I thought it was Garamound! Does Helvetica at least get a mention?

"Font of all evil" is a variation on "Fount of all evil" and is perfectly valid usage. See http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=font

You want evil fonts? Try Gate Keeper AOE:

"The GateKeeper typeface was inspired by old horror movies, and the various poster typography that went with some of them. A loose and pointy typestyle, GateKeeper embodies the dark side of typography and life, with a creepy and on edge feeling. With large and small capitals, it is easy to exchange cases in events of double characters, which can lend for a very interesting offbeat quality. Usable for any ocassion, but most suitable for dark matter."

Note: Why no HTML? It makes comments so much prettier and more functionally elegant. Hmmmm.

The font of all evil is Courier. It tries to catch you with its siren song of "your output will look just like a typewriter." Its millenium, milieu and meme has been crushed and now it's worked its way into the New Age of Fonts That Fit. Shun the beasty.

that should be "have been crushed." The Joe DiMaggio hasn't got the coffee flowing yet.

I have that beat, Sissy:

<a href="http://www.waldenfont.com/fontviewns.asp?fontset=7" target="_blank">Gnomos from Walden Fonts</a>

<blockquote>"Here we have a gnarled and twisted hand that was used on an actual spell, which which was found tucked under the beams of a 16th century house in southern Germany. The incantation was wrapped around a fossil belemnite (also known as a “thunderbolt”) Evidently this protected the house from getting hit by lightning. There are brown stains on the ancient parchment, which could be blood."</blockquote>

Muwahahahahaha!!!

Wow, look at all that exposed html...which proves I have an instruction-reading disorder. *sigh*

Maybe I should make it red, bold, and blinking? ;)

.Text doesn't allow HTML and I'd love to rewrite the code. but I just don't have tons of time.

And yes, Gnomos is fugly!

I thought Webdings were the font of evil. At least, *I* can't read 'em...
