I don't believe it. I don't want to believe it.
Iraqi security reportedly discovered three missiles carrying nuclear heads concealed in a concrete trench northwest of Baghdad, official sources said Wednesday.
This story has already been called 'stupid' by the Iraqi Interior Ministry. I'm inclined to believe him because I don't want to think that we just happened to 'stumble' on nukes. That would mean the possibility of more of them hidden in Iraq that we'd have no idea where they are but some terrorist might would be highly likely.
It doesn't make sense, either. If Saddam had them, he'd have spared no time using them. Until you wave them in other country's face, no one is going to believe you. Once you do, no one would dare piss you off. Saddam would have done this in a heartbeat if you ask me.
What I would like to see is 'attempted nukes' found buried under 18 feet of concrete or even just illegal missiles. I want to believe that the world's intelligence isn't as bumbling as it appears and that we had somewhat correct information.
But the fact that this in not on every front page of every news source tells me something isn't kosher with the story. And as much as I'd love to gloat, I'd rather not over something this serious.
