Well, the season is over for Fox's 24. Jack is still alive, Chase isn't going to be winning any contests that involve clapping, and Tony will be busy coordinating people making car tags.
All in all, the season started out real strong, but got a little wacky toward the end. For those of you who've never seen the show, each show is 1 hour and happens in real time. Because of this, here is what I have learned!
- LA is a small town with little traffic. You can get from any two points via car in under 5 minutes.
- There is always a helicopter nearby
- All terrorists put large, easy to read digital countdown timers on their bombs. These timers are special in that they make a loud beep every second, but only AFTER you've located the bomb.
- Also, these timers always have 4 or 5 extra wires that can't be cut because the bomb will go off.
- Despite all the hype about taking trillions of years, encryption can be broken in like 3 minutes.
- Everything from traffic lights to public toilets are computer controlled. If you work for CTU, you can control everything from a PDA.
- All government laptops are capable of wireless streaming video. Even in the middle of Mexico.
- GPS receivers apparently double as tracking devices. Even under 20 feet of concrete in a subway.
- If you call anyone on their cell phone, they will answer in less than 1 second.
- A bad haircut will make Elisha Cuthbert look like a dog.
- In tense situations, people can go 24 hours without a bathroom break, food, or sleep and still function like it was the first thing in the morning.
- All photographs can be blown up 10,000% and still be crystal clear. Photographs of license tags from a mile away still can be read.
Anyone else learn anything interesting from this show?
