Oh man! I am excited already. The Incredibles website is up and with plenty of new info as well as [access denied] screens to really keep you guessing.
I have been a Pixar fan for a long time. I actually knew about them before Toy Story came out from their shorts, namely Luxo, Jr. So far, everything Pixar has touched has turned to solid gold and yet, I admit, I am a little worried about this film.
I know Pixar focuses on story more than the fact they're using computers for the animation. This is one of the reasons I feel their movies rock so much. Finding Nemo is still my favorite, followed by Toy Story I. Monster's Inc is fantastic, TSII is good too. Heck, A Bug's Life is in an easy last place, yet I still find it to be in my top 20 movies of all time!
In each of these movies, Pixar took a look at something from a completely different angle. Stories from points of views that we never really considered. All of them had such a fresh perspective that just the premise of the movies were entertaining.
The Incredibles, on the surface, is different. Superhero movies are a dime a dozen, both realistic and in parody. The fact that we're going to watch some super heroes take on a super villian is nothing new, so this will be the first Pixar movie where the premise isn't the hook.
Nervous? Yes, but I like the way Pixar has always focused on story, so I'm sure it will pull through just fine. This of course makes me want to see the movie even worse than the 1st time I saw the trailer in the theater.
