Here's a tip for all the 'progressives' out there

If you choose to vote for Barack This Bud's For You Obama because we need a black man in the White House, then the only thing differentiating you from the KKK is a spiffy, white bed sheet with eye holes and a pointy top.

So many people fail to recognize that the outcome of an event is separate from the intent of those causing it. Giving a specific treatment to someone based on the color of their skin is racism, regardless if you're giving them a promotion or denying them restaurant service.

It would seem a lot of the progressives out there think that as long as the outcome is acceptable, then it's irrelevant the path taken to get there. Then they bemoan that racism is still a problem, even though they themselves continue to promote it.

What we need in the White House is an American who is proud of their country and wants to do the best they can for it, regardless of the pigment of their skin or the dangly bits twixt their legs.

I forgot what happiness grilling your food can bring. The Weber's cast iron cooking grates make some fantastic grill marks too.

Tonight, we had roasted carrots and grilled rosemary chicken (using home grown rosemary)

Buddy, that's some fine eating right there. Rosemary and a hint of garlic, and grilled to perfection.

If this is true, you'll be able to watch what little support I have not so much evaporate as sublimate.

You know what? McCain is the right's Kerry. Kerry was a shitty little politician not worthy of election to head crap bagger at the local zoo, much less POTUS, but for the left, at least he wasn't BUSH!!!!! It was the only thing they had positive to say about him.

That's the only thing I can say about McCain - he's not Obama. McCain is bad on freedom of speech? Hey, he's not Obama! Not exactly solid on the gun issue? He's still not Obama! Immigration pisses you off? Hey, Obama would be worse!

On the gun rights front, we have a definite negative with Barack Apply Directly To Forehead Obama and who knows what from Johnny "Squishy McShitSandwich" McCain. I'm afraid he'll get wind that us gun owners aren't exactly excited about him and then he'll get all pissy and try to enact the McCain / Pelosi Act that bans any weapons that have a capacity of 1 round or more.

I admit, Romney isn't awful, but he's not great by any stretch of the imagination. He's a RINO and McCain needs a strong conservative as his pick if he wants any support.

However, I'm still of the mind set that if McCain is going to lose, he needs to loose Dukakis / McGovern big. A close race will tell the GOP that Crappy McCrapkins just wasn't crappy enough. A solid loss should send a message that we need something much better or we're staying home.

*sigh*

IDPA Match

There's an IDPA match near me in a few weeks. I plan on dropping by to watch. Being that I'm heading out to Blackwater the following week, I'm not going to have any money to actually do anything for a while. However, I want to see if this feels like something I want to invest a little money into.

For starters, I know I'll need a decent holster. My C-TAC probably isn't effective enough for IDPA, being IWB and all. Then, I need new sights for the Glock. I've never cared much for the standard ones on there, and I've seen the XS Big Dots and like those. They remind me of the sight that comes with the Ruger Mark III that, once I realized how it worked, found I could hit a gnat's ass at 15 yards with no problem.

Then I have to get some new brass for the reloads. What I've got now is on its final shooting, so that brass can be discarded, but there's only about 300-400 pieces left so that would disappear pretty quickly.

The Mrs. didn't seem to mind the thought of me doing something like this being that she knows shooting is my hobby.

Plus, with my Todd Jarrett training, I'll be unbeatable!

Victim status - the new American dream

Let's say you're the mother of this "little angel"

Nichols, 17, and four other teen girls were arrested in April, accused of attacking 16-year-old Lindsay and recording the beating on video. Investigators have said that the attack on Lindsay was in retaliation for online trash-talking with some of the girls and that the footage was going to be posted on MySpace and YouTube.

Each of the girls is charged with kidnapping and misdemeanor battery. Nichols, Brittany Mayes and Brittni Hardcastle, both 17, are also charged with witness tampering.

...

Judd has described the March 30 beating in published news stories as "animalistic" and said that after the teens were arrested, they were laughing together in a holding cell, saying "Am I going to miss cheerleading practice?" and "I guess we're not going to the beach this week."

Now, your daughter has gotten together with a bunch of friends, kidnapped and beaten another girl and put the video up online, laughed and giggled during their arrest, and then you find out the Sheriff didn't have anything nice to say about your skills as a parent.

What do you do?

a) Feel ashamed at your lack of parenting skills
b) Direct your anger to your daughter who is the true cause of your pain
or
c) SUE!!!!!!

You get three guesses and the first two don't count.

The four-page legal notice sent to the Polk County Sheriff's Office by Lakeland attorney Michele Bernard says Judd has "uttered untrue facts about the nature of my client and her status as a parent towards her minor child, Mercades Nichols, with reckless disregard for the truth."

Bernard will sue over the "severe emotional damages" Garcia suffered when those comments were publicized in newspapers, the Internet, national talk shows and local news stations, according to the legal notice.

"Sever emotional damages"? You should sue your own daughter for that.
