I’ve been doing a little soul searching lately Humor Turns out I don’t have one. Which makes things easier, to be honest. Canthros says: on 12/7/2012 at 1:56 PM I can't recommend ensoulment highly enough. In fact, I recommend people buy as many extra souls as they can afford! eBay is a reasonably accessible source for aftermarket souls, but one does have to be very careful; many are damaged and nothing stains a carpet like leaky soulstuff. Silver the Evil Chao says: on 12/8/2012 at 2:10 PM Hahaha, nice Dead Goblin Count on the top of the site there. How do you cross-reference the number with Jay's? Do you have a script that automatically updates it or do you update it yourself?I'm pretty sure I don't have a soul either. In its place is a very hyper manic-depressive little demon on caffeine and sugar. As the admin, I see + and - icons that let me increase / decrease the count. When I see Jay post an addition, I update it here.It would take too much development effort to write a service that scraped his blog looking for DGC posts and getting the proper count. That area is, for now, kind of a placeholder for other ideas. Just seeing it if works for a while. Silver the Evil Chao says: on 12/9/2012 at 5:45 PM Ohhh! :) Well...I'd have a script that would run daily on this page, and take the first post, navigate to that, and find the sentence that goes "Dead Goblin Count: XXX" and obtain the number from that (via regex, likely)....the only problem is, reading HTML pages takes FOREVER. >x<;; ></;; > Silver the Evil Chao says: on 12/9/2012 at 5:45 PM Sorry, I enjoy racking my brain to solutions for things. :) Robb Allen says: on 12/9/2012 at 7:28 PM Understood. I've just been doing it for 17 years and I know the pitfalls that happen. An extra space, Coutn instead of Count, - instead of :, missing a regex and pulling in something not intended. It's not that it can't be done, mind you. There's just no ROI. It takes much less effort to just manually hit a + icon every here and there. Comments have been closed on this topic.
