I was in Academy yesterday, and they had several boxes of handgun ammo... but it was all .38S&W.
So you come to my local Wally World and don't even bother to call? Hmmph!

The current state of things has taken all the fun out of plinking.
Everytime I pull the trigger, I feel like I'm squandering ammo. Should have bought more long ago.

I paid $40 each for two 325 count boxes of .22lr this afternoon and was happy for the opportunity. It's the only .22lr I've found in a 50 mile radius.
I have, however, learned my lesson. I used to keep a few hundred rounds of anything I needed. I will now be hoarding ammo until the day I die, just in case.

I was in an Academy the other day and one Clerk was argueing with another as to weather is was ok to sell 2 boxes of ammo to the same customer.
When the talking heads on TV were droning on about about needing a national conversation on gun control, I bet they weren't expecting so many of us to let our wallets do the talking...
That's nine more rounds of .22LR than my Walmarts have.
Three stores in my town, and the only handgun ammo to be seen is one (and only one) token box of .357SIG each.

Clerk: "Did you find everything okay?"
Me: "No, I found everything in complete disarray. The .22 Long Rifle was where the .38 Special was supposed to be."

Better selection than I've got. Lesson learned, hording begins if this damned madness ever ends. Scavenging begins if it never ends.

Tell me about it. I'm on the Oregon State University pistol team, and we're desperate for ammunition. We're not sure if we have enough to last the rest of the school year. Rifle Club is even worse off; they've been forced to start buying from us because the stores have NOTHING.

Grab those lose rounds. It might be all there is for a while.
