Can we stop pretending we need to have a conversation now?
San Diego Police Chief William Lansdowne is fully supportive of the Obama/Feinstein gun grab, and says if lawmakers play it right Americans can be completely disarmed within “a generation.”
Emphasis mine.
The goal is and has always been disarmament and from that, control. There is nothing in their conversation that revolves around safety, protection, respect of the Constitution or the acknowledgement of the sovereignty of the individual.
I just hope this fascist thug of a police chief has the balls to personally try to confiscate guns rather than send other men and women to die for his tyranny, but we all know that’s not the case.

I just hope you personally have the constitution require to fire on the confiscator yourself, rather than write blog posts about it if the time comes.
The "Anti-War" crowd wants politicians to have skin in the game and either serve themselves or send their kids into any fight they vote for.
Any pol who suggests confiscation ought to be the one kicking in doors.

"completely disarmed within “a generation.”"
Wow, that's probably one of the more delusional things that I have heard in a long time.
There is now, and has never been, a sizable population of peoples that have been "completely disarmed". To do so would be impossible, especially with the sheer number of firearms within America, and the (relatively) open borders/coastlines that America has. The closest that he might come is to disarm a portion of the law abiding citizens, while creating a new class criminal out of the remainder. The segment of the population that are already criminals would be largely unaffected (except for the availability of easier prey).
In order to complete the disarmament, a whole lot of jack-booted neck stomping would have to be done by the government. Such a thing would tend to solidify the opposition. Especially in America where people would still remember the days when they were free.

Just for that, I'm going to teach a kid how to shoot. And I don't even have any of my own.
I went to college in San Diego, lived there almost 5 years. That PD was notorious for being aggressive.
One notable case involved a mentally ill homeless man swinging around a tree branch. A cop emptied his magazine on the crazy bastard.
They also had mandatory DUI checkpoints in many locations, and conducted searches of automobiles where they were suspicious.
Basically any car full of 18-22 year old males was "suspicious".
The citizens in California are so used to living this way, they have damaged perspectives regarding freedom.

I for one am glad that these people are finally showing who they really are, instead of saying "I am a gun owner and a sportsman, and respect the second amendment but...".
I wonder if Joe the 'gun expert' Biden will be personally arming the confiscators with double barreled shotguns? ;)

I'll keep up my end.
I think Glenn said it best. "In a revolution if you're not willing to kill or die for your beliefs, you're irrelevant. Tweeting about it doesn't count. "
Pardon the paraphrase.

...and if lawmakers play it wrong, they could have a pretty big mess on their hands. The kind of mess that 7,000 *actual* assault rifles won't fix.
The more they tighten their grip, the more systems...er...states are going to slip through their fingers. After all, the more you take from people, the less they have to lose.

What, Robb, your oath didn't have a "Best if used by" date?
Funny. . . neither did mine. . . almost like it's a feature, not a bug. . .

As Robb said, I have two kids as well so when push does come to shove, I'll either be supporting or fighting -will just depend on how the chips fall

My last child is grown, and left the nest 5 years ago. The best thing that I can do for them now is ensure that their freedoms remain intact.
I swore the same oath to defend the Constitution of the United States, just not as a Marine.
