I’ll be back in a bit. My bullshit meter pegged so hard it threw the needle out.

My bullshit meter stopped working quite a while ago. Turns out I am better off assuming everything is bullshit and attempting to detect little gems of truth and sincerity.
All the time, huh?
Then obviously he understands what kind of burden tracking ammo would entail.
I shoot trap competitively and shoot skeet, sporting clays, and 5 stand for fun.
During the warmer months, 1200 rounds a week isn't uncommon. At an ATA shoot, it can be 300 plus rounds a day between singles, doubles and handicap.
I fired a little more than 17,000 shotgun shells in the last year - as did the 4 other guys on my squad. That's 85,000 rounds give or take - for 5 guys. Yes, we buy our shells by the pallet.
BTW - pointing things like this out to shotgunners and then explaining why it would destroy their sport if serializing ammunition and requiring background checks for ammunition purchases seems to get them on the side of "no more gun laws" pretty quickly.

Camp David is in Maryland. Maryland has strict gun laws. Obama admitted in his autobiography to being a habitual drug user. I assume he doesn't own the shotguns he shot.
State law requires a background check each time a gun is rented or lent - I can't imagine that anyone actually bothered to run the background check (which should have flagged him, based on his drug use).
Not to mention that carrying a firearm on Federal Property is generally prohibited for civilians. I'll bet a hundred dollars that if he did shoot, the people he shot with were not legally allowed to touch guns at Camp David.
