Until the Gun Rights Policy Conference in Orlando. I’ll be there! It’s kind of funny though. Normally a get together of gunnies is an exciting thing. This? Well, it’s a policy conference, meaning most discussions will be like “So we filed an injunction against 53.02 claiming that, per 720.00 sub section h, the state does not have the authority to regulate arms in regards to Kimbell Vs. Range” I shall bring plenty of No-Doz. Still, as a member of Florida Carry, it’s important to understand what...

It must be snowing in Hell since I find myself agreeing with Louis Farrakhan “You ain’t manufacturing no guns, but you got some,” the minister said in a sermonic speech dubbed, “Stop the Killing.” “Your people are being herded into a life-style — that is going to jail.” It’s an artificial culture thing. The ‘thug life’, glorified through rap music and held as some sort of community standard is a big part of the problem. A lack of a stable family home, where gang life becomes a surrogate, is...

What condition do you store your firearms? Me? I like to load every gun up with one in the chamber, safeties off, muzzle pointing outward, with rubber bands on the triggers because that’s how I roll. Ok, maybe I don’t really do that. Any firearm that is not used actively for SD remains unloaded. CCW pieces stay loaded, but I remove the entire rig so that the gun never leaves the holster. If the handgun is loaded and in the safe, it will be in a holster. Other guns generally are stored in their...

If you're interested, you need to know it takes a few weeks to secure the proper license. Matthew Burton has been extremely busy lately. Burton said his phone has been ringing non-stop. He said concerned citizens are asking him when they can enroll in his firearms training class. Enrollment has more than doubled, since Governor Fallin...

But apparently, it’s enough evidence to prove you’re a murderer Now prosecutors say that video of Bowman at a pistol shooting competition in Puyallup may become an important piece of evidence in the case. It shows that he is an excellent shot - hitting one target after another in rapid-fire succession. "One-handed, firing at a series of targets, hitting every one of them square on ... both right-handed and left-handed," says W. Scott O'Toole of the King County Prosecutor's Office. I have to...

Sure to ruffle many a feather, I’ve come to the conclusion that one of two things needs to happen. I need to get a better trigger for my Glock 20, or I need to sell it. I *can* shoot it just fine, crunchy trigger and all. I’m not a fan of having to modify a gun before you can accurately shoot it. However, I’m not adverse to modding a gun to make shooting it enjoyable. I hate my KelTec P3AT with a passion, but I can shoot it accurately at <15 yards without a problem and I strongly believe...

Chilling, I know, but as the English language gets mangled, eventually words change their meanings. I fear ‘clip’ isn’t far behind in this regard. Bitter, bitter fruit. It’s a dark laugh that I got out of this one. You see, we’ve gone so far off the deep end of allowing other people to attach their intent to our speech that we are now self-censoring what we say because we fear that someone else can ‘take offense’ at our words even though they know we intended none. Hence, the pious progressive cannot use the word ‘black’ in front of someone with dark skin because even though everyone understands they’re talking about how they want their...

I’m thrilled that Florida has such a high demand for CCW permits that they need to open more offices and hire more people, but how about simply coming to terms with the fact that CCW permits do nothing to stop criminals from carrying guns anyway and do away with them? They have no effect on crime, provide no additional measure of public safety, and only act as an impediment to law abiding citizens. Constitutional Carry is the appropriate response to this, not simply ‘getting them done faster’.

Yesterday I mentioned this site to a coworker who is a musician. I saw that they had one of my favorite songs, Sultans of Swing, dissected down into just the guitar & vocal parts, and one of the things that’s slowed me down a bit in my re-learning of the gitfiddle is that, well, pentatonic scales and picking patterns tend to get a bit boring. So I thought, what the hell, and started figuring out how to play some Knopfler. The more I dig into that song, the more I respect that guy as a...

When it comes to the anti-gun groups, some deaths are more equal than others. Look at those numbers. The anti’s would have you believe that if we’d just ban guns, humans would live forever, that firearms are the only cause of deaths in the world or something. At least, the amount of effort they put into trying to ban the things makes it seem like that. They don’t care about suicides or violence or accidental deaths. They’ve shown no concern to those killed with knives or those who have hung...

That’s not Batman’s style. You have to hide on ledges and knock them out, one by one. You can use tricks like smoke bombs, sneaking up behind them and silently choking them to sleep, or if you’re feeling rambunctious just beat them to a non-lethal pulp. But never kill them, because that’s not Batman’s...

So, it has to be protected. Barbarism, on the other hand hand, is tough. It doesn’t have to be nurtured. It is, in fact, the natural state of man.
