Yesterday, I had to clean the garage. It had been a while, and it was damned near impossible to even get to my bench much less do anything on it. After everything was cleared off, and now that I’ve got the Delta Elite back, I decided to run up a small batch of 10mm for testing. The previous loads I had that ran great in my Glock 20 were a bit long in the OAL for the Delta Elite and would bind in the magazines. 1.260” would catch every few rounds, but 1.250-1.255” works just fine. However, my...

Sean Caranna says Thursday March 27th 2014, the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) openly testified against Second Amendment rights to the Florida House Judiciary Committee saying, “In our opinion, there is a difference between owning a firearm and carrying one concealed on your person. Owing a firearm is a right; carrying it concealed is a privilege; and it is a privilege that is earned…” That last sentence is going to be the death knell for the ban on open carry here in Florida. Why?...

One of the reasons I have so few friends is that I prefer to be right rather than adored. Because of this quirk, I will call out people who are on my side over things that aren’t true. On a Twitter conversation this morning, I saw this tried and true image being used Irony upon irony upon irony, there is no credible source that says Goebbels ever said that. Folks, be careful with attributions. I jokingly made this image However, being serious, don’t fall into that trap. Yes, sometimes a pithy...

So, Oculus Rift was purchased by the Bookface Corporation. This is not a good thing. I desired an OR above almost all other tech and was actually thinking about going ahead and grabbing the 2nd Gen Dev Kit, but now? Not so much. You see, Facebook is a social platform. I don’t want my immersive, VR platform to be ‘social’. I’m putting on a miniature 3D television on my face to get away from people, not bring them in closer. But my fear isn’t really that there will be popups, ads, and Facebook...

When we took the family to Montgomery, AL, I was simply floored with all the history concentrated into such a small place. The civil war started there, and down the street the Civil Rights movement started in earnest. I stood on the porch of the Dexter Parsonage over the missing chunk of concrete from the bomb thrown at the Kings that indicated the beginning of something so large, we’re still dealing with it. I walked through the kitchen where MLK prayed to God, asking him for strength. The man...

Jay Caruso has a pretty darned good article out over at Pocket Full of Liberty about the left’s loss when it comes to the topic of the Second Amendment That being said, the real issue here is not so much these nonsensical reasons about why people want to be gun owners but rather the overall attitude the left has for gun owners (and even for those, who like Charlie Cooke are not gun owners but have respect for the second amendment) in general. In the mind of the left, people who support gun...

(this is the Craigslist ad I posted. Since I took it down after being sold, I decided to put it up here for posterity) But I'd rather sell it to you. It's a Singer 4525 Deluxe sewing machine. What makes it deluxe? Hell if I know. I only know it's a sewing machine because I saw one once on a show on the History Channel. It has a bobbin, whatever that is and there are levers and dials that make it look like a bad prop from the original Star Trek series. I'm not sure what the symbols on the side...

This doesn’t strike me as a bad idea. Have people turn in unwanted guns, then auction them off. Probably raise more money AND save relics at the same time, without taking a cent out of the taxpayers’s pockets.

Someone put a whole ‘lotta scare into 1:30. Well executed Hat tip Ace of Spades who I agree with when he says From @ComradeArthur, a very short (128 seconds) horror film made for a short horror film contest. Is it scary? Well, I got scared 20 seconds in. Then it got worse. Then I turned it off, because: I don't need this crap I watched the whole thing thinking “I’d need at least 1200 lumens and the 6.8 SPC.”

Yes, that’s a question. Let’s start at the beginning. My girls go to a Charter School in downtown Tampa. It *literally* is on my drive to work, so it wasn’t ‘out of the way’ and they are a school centered on math & sciences as well as a laundry list of ‘things we look for in a school for our kids’ (yes, I’d love to homeschool, no it’s not feasible regardless of what you think). We looked at private schools, but found this charter to be quite attractive as far as their curriculum goes, as...

I finally hit the range yesterday. I’d say it’s been about 8 months since I last fired a gun and thankfully my targets did not show it. Only one ‘pulled’ shot that barely missed the paper and that was 25’ out. Had a good buddy of mine go with me. He had never shot the KRISS and loved it. The sights were all wonky so the next time I take it I need to remember a set of Allen wrenches belongs in my range bag. Yesterday morning, I put the Colt Delta Elite back together (sorry Mach Wizard, I never...

It was marked clean by the doctor yesterday. iMac was told yesterday her blood levels were normal and that there is no longer any need to monitor her. Almost 2 years ago the scare started and it took this long to finally get the all clear on her levels. Each time we took her in, something else was amiss and we sat on pins & needles for eternity. After her trip to the ER a few weeks ago, the doctor is finally convinced everything is stable and normal, thank the Lord. So, hoist a cold one in...

At least, not if you're under 18 and in the UK Liam Whelan was sent by his stepmother to their local Tesco in Haslingden to buy replacements for the spoons he keeps losing. But staff refused to sell the 57p pack of teaspoons to Liam, from Deardengate, because he was not 18. However, the award for “Most Cake Taken by a Single Utterance” goes to the mother "Knives, forks I can understand but teaspoons? No," she said. This is the end result of the resurrection of the deodand as a valid...

Glad to see most comments recognize it’s his right to have the sign & their right to not give him their money. Also, while I’m against his stance, I’m actually more than happy to see someone take an unpopular stance AND assume responsibility for it. Putting up a direct sign is better than a tiny sticker at the bottom of the door where you try to have your anti-gun cake and eat it too. I’m...

These people think you are killers in waiting What's the worst gun legislation being considered by Florida lawmakers? Really, it's hard to pick. She doesn’t bother and lists them all. She thinks it’s ridiculous that, because kids get punished for chewing a poptart in the shape of a gun that we should do anything about that. Because SYG is controversial or some twaddle, being that it’s been common law for eons and suddenly one thug decides to dribble a guy’s skull on the pavement and gets a...

So, while I was in Alabama, I had to be careful with my family since it’s an Open Carry state. Because it’s a very permissive OC state, we often had to dodge bullets that flew by by crazed, racist cowboys who were still pissed over the whole segregation thing being abolished. Practically every person wore their heaters on their belts and guns were drawn over the slightest issue. Well, I assume that happened and that it was just a fluke that I didn’t see a single openly carried gun the entire...

Sorry for the lack of blogging, but for Spring Break I took the family to Montgomery, AL for a historical vacation. I don’t talk about vacations because it’s not difficult to locate my address & of course it’s well known I have guns, so I don’t advertise that I won’t be home (although we had a house sitter). I have a lot to blog about regarding Montgomery, the history, and the creeping corruption that’s threading its way through it via the Southern Poverty Law Center. However, it was an...

Put up scary sounding video – prevent comments so people cannot point out the fallacies in it. That’s the 1 page of the playbook for the anti’s – control the message. They have to lie, use scary sounding terms, and prey on people’s emotions while keeping their logic as far away from the light as possible. Here, as on most blogs I haunt, conversation is open. Florida Carry thrives on open communication because we believe we are in the right, and thus the truth will always filter its way to...

Tam just kills it The relentless pressure of centuries of party politics in the US has finally resulted in breeding a highly specialized strain of political animals. Both of my girls are Straight A students. Luckily, their charter school is challenging them more, and the A’s aren’t *quite* as easy to come by as they used to be, but still both girls are studious and enjoy learning and it shows. So when Georgia got three 0s in her Spanish class, we were concerned. The first 0 was from when she was out for the day for the county level science fair. Her teacher allowed her to make that one up. The second 0 was the teacher’s fault and her teacher corrected it....

In today’s digital age, it’s very, very difficult to do things online and not leave a long train of data pointing back to who you are. This can be especially infuriating when you try to run a “revenge porn” website that posts pictures of underage girls. If you read the email exchange, you can almost pinpoint the moment the bastard shits himself. None of the links in the document work because he instantly started deleting everything he could. In fact, I hadn’t seen that many 404’s since...

I have this one all the time – I’m somewhere where carry is verboten, and my shirt is a) too short to cover when I sit and b) my belt is always some floppy material like canvas. Then I spend the rest of the dream trying to find some place I can take off my pistol and put it in some sack that I later find out doesn’t have any zippers to hold it in correctly.

It is said time and time again by anti-gun forces that no person should ever shoot someone who is simply punching you. Because a single punch can never kill anyone, right? A violent thug who killed a vulnerable man with a single punch during a row over a bicycle could have his sentence extended following an investigation by the Attorney General. Watch the video. One. Single. Punch. It’s a sucker punch, nothing having a gun on hand would have had prevented, but it does clearly show how deadly...

The answer is Not. After getting this comment from The Oyster regarding my new song I'm working on, I went back to look at the underlying riff that was setting my ‘key’ Ran this past someone else, who took a listen and pointed out that you don't actually have a C-flat in there. Thus it's not in Dorian, it's just a simple Mixolydian. Best of luck! I looked, and yes, I did actually have C♭ hanging around… But it wasn’t necessary. I got rid of it, then reexamined what I had left, and lo &...

We hope that they get the message, but sadly it isn't likely and Florida Carry, Inc. expects that we'll be getting more checks like this one. University of N.
