But the subject matter is very, very ingenious From F*** Yeah Tattoos

And Kevin has a quote from a theoretical biologist that illustrates this point quite nicely (A)s soon as I learn that someone owns a gun, and is pro-gun ownership without heavy regulations, I totally judge them to be uneducated and conservative. … I am happy to do that, because I have yet to meet an intelligent, well educated person who is pro-guns in real life Look at that quote. The tone-deafness can be measured in decibels, but only if you use scientific notation. It is almost a given...

Because I think I just injured my right hand face-palming so hard. As someone who is actively trying to get OC legalized in Florida, I sometimes feel our strongest opposition comes from gun owners. Lord knows, as much as it pains me to say, they have a lot of valid points to their arguments especially when you have OC’ers bitching about Tam being not-pro-gun-enough.

http://reason.com/archives/2013/12/28/americas-internal-checkpoints I want you to think about this – We don’t enforce immigration. Millions of illegals come here, suck up our resources and enjoy a free ride on the tax payers’ dime, and the gov’t not only does nothing about it, they want more leeches on the system because it keeps them in power. Instead, they set up these types of roadblocks to do nothing more than hassle and intimidate American citizens. It’s a way to teach them to comply, to...

Tomorrow morning, I get a lovely endoscopy! I have horrific heartburn (one of the many joys of getting old) and they want to look around and make sure there isn’t any damage happening as well as make sure nothing nasty is growing in there. Should be TONS of fun. Sorry, can’t live blog the event. Apparently I’ll be knocked out cold during the procedure. I’ll let you know if I make it. If I don’t, well, you’ve all been great readers!

I get a LOT of emails asking me to post a small blurb from someone’s up & coming gun related business or people asking about guest posts (as a way to cross link to their up & coming businesses). I rarely even reply to these emails much less post stuff, but on rare occasions I might even be nice and put something up. While not set in stone, my general view is I don’t post anything that I wouldn’t consider buying myself or anything that I do not know the reputation of the business. I’ve...

But I’ve not seen one like this in… well, forever So she hits a car, then flees. She stops to give first aid to the shooting victim in her back seat…then she returns to her previous accident and murders the man ejected from the car by running over him.

Don’t be that Marine. It’s fun to jab at the other branches, but don’t think that just because someone didn’t wear the Eagle, Globe & Anchor that somehow they weren’t real soldiers.

Yesterday I had a rather… ‘entertaining’ Twitter discussion with a character who claimed that carrying hollow points = bloodlust. No, that’s not a summary, that’s his / her actual statement. The discussion apparently started by saying Zimmerman was guilty because the only reason he’d carry hollow points would be because he had blood lust. I wish there was a good way to capture the conversation, but Twitter is a shitty vehicle for this to begin with, and gets worse when the conversation branches...

It’s for a 1911 style pistol, and there are no animations showing how the mind rays that turn into psychopathic murderers are produced, but it’s still pretty neat.

Colorado revolt - 55 of 62 sheriffs refuse to enforce new gun laws Often, the anti’s tell us that when the next shot heard around the world is fired, the populace will lose because drone strikes and military and police. They forget that many of those are made up of people who still believe in the US & the constitution that it is founded upon.

Only if you ignore the little fact that you can make one in your garage. Technology refuses to agree with the gun control agenda.

So why don’t you just shut the $#*&( up? I can understand a real memorial not wanting to risk a disruption, but these ladies had no plans for somberness – it was a political ploy aimed at using a church as a shield against criticism. They projected what they would have done onto Sean, who had no plans to interrupt their blood dancing routine. Anti-gun people are welcomed, nay practically invited to show up to our Open Carry fishing events. We will not turn them away. Why? First &...

FL COLLEGES CANNOT REGULATE FIREARMS ON CAMPUS Jacksonville, FL - On Tuesday, the First Florida District Court of Appeals ruled colleges and universities have no vested or delegated authority to regulate firearms on campus, and only the Legislature has that authority. This watershed decision is the first significant test of the preemption statute, §790.33 Florida Statutes, since it was amended in 2011 to allow for penalties to be imposed on state agencies in violation.  Alexandria...

It is impossible to speak in such a way that you cannot be misunderstood.  ~Karl Popper, Unended Quest You and I know what the 2nd Amendment means. We’ve read the founding fathers’ papers, we understand their intent, and there is no confusion as to what they meant. Court case after court case saying the complete opposite, our opponents are still convinced the 2A is only for state controlled militias and possibly blowing Bambi’s brains out. So, given the Karl Popper quote above, how would...

This brouhaha over Moochelle giving the TOTUS a stare of death is so overblown it's ridiculous and it’s embarrassing to watch righties trip over themselves to make something of it. Photographs remove the context of time. A face frozen in mid-blink gives an expression that isn’t intended. And motion itself can create some seriously crazy images. Take Beyoncé’s famously funny picture It makes for a funny meme, but it’s not indicative of what she was actually doing at that precise moment in time....

I had the amazing experience of meeting Oleg Volk in person yesterday. He was down her in the Sunshine state for a photo shoot and we met up in Orlando for a few hours. It’s always a neat think, knowing people for years before you ever meet them face to face (even more odd is meeting people you’ve never even seen photos of, although Oleg did not fit into this category). Normally, I find that most professional photographers have ‘lens manners’. They’re very upbeat and personable when they’re...

Here’s a dirty little secret I hope my daughters do not learn while they live in my house. They can do whatever they want, whenever they want, and they can revoke my authority with a simple “no”. Think about it. I could tell them to go brush their teeth and they can say no. I can raise my voice. I can threaten to take away their toys. I can demand they not step foot outside to play with their friends. And they can still say ‘no’. I can offer corporal punishment, but they’re really at the age...

Last night after the Mrs. & I had settled down for a long winters nap (her in her kerchief & I in my cap), there arose such a clatter. Otherwise known as the smoke detector going off. Going from “fast asleep” to “full adrenaline dump” in a quarter second is… unpleasant to say the least. I don’t know why I am the way I am, but thankfully I always panic after an event has happened and this was no exception. I leaped out of bed, yelling at my wife to get up (she wears ear plugs because...

Cops will threaten to kill your dogs if you make them get a warrant. To prove it, he said police asked to search his house, Crinnian refused multiple times.  He said they needed a warrant. Then he said one police officer started threatening him saying, “If we have to get a warrant, we’re going to come back when you’re not expecting it, we’re going to park in front of your house, where all your neighbors can see, we’re gonna bust in your door with a battering ram, we’re gonna shoot and...

Immediate Action Needed to Stop ATF 41P, Comments Close on December 9 ISSUE: The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has issued a notice of proposed rulemaking which if approved, would completely change the criteria for the establishment of National Firearms Act (NFA) trusts by individuals and corporations. It would require any individual using a trust to be photographed, fingerprinted and most egregiously, obtain the approval by signature of their local chief law...

With my jaw… The end result is, as far as your monitor is concerned, indiscernible from a photograph. I mean, the guy literally worked on the highlights of each mole. I’ve seen many, many instances of  trompe l'oeil in my life and some of it is mind-bending in its attention to detail. When I was taking art courses in college (hey, I originally wanted to write software like Photoshop. Figured I needed to know color theory and whatnot) there was a sister class doing trompe l'oeil. One guy...

I did some photography work for Routen Guitars last week. Mark fixed my beat up Fender Gemini II so that I could play it again by replacing the cracked, plastic nut and bridge with bone, re-adhering the pick guard, and a few minor tweaks to get it back to playability status (and it is, and the bone bridge has really increased the volume). Last night I gave him the DVD with all the images on it and we discussed the fact that I’m now planning on taking some courses on building a guitar. There’s a...

Whether you are politically active or just a piano teacher, they will NOT let you forget this. In March of this year, a small nonprofit in Cincinnati—the Music Teachers National Association—received a letter from the FTC. The agency was investigating whether the association was engaged in, uh, anticompetitive practices. This was bizarre, given that the MTNA has existed since 1876 solely to advance the cause of music study and support music teachers. The 501(c)(3) has about 22,000 members,...
