Just an off the top of the head thought – you should attempt to discuss gun issues with people, not debate them. Debating makes it a win / lose thing. Discussion means you can bring up facts and figures without putting them on the defensive. I need to heed that advice myself. It’s always a debate with me. Hmm. Just a thought.

If gun free zones make our children safer, then why do politicians have protection details?

Built a new PC yesterday. i5 3750K CPU, Asus P8Z77-LX V mobo, 32G of RAM, 120g SSD drive. Windows rating of 7.6. You know how Windows 7 has the animated Windows logo while it boots? It doesn’t even finish the animation before it starts (and this is after all the service packs and whatnot too!). Cheap, $50 case was nice. Innards are all rounded, everything slides out for quick access, thumb screws for the panels rather than Phillips head types. All the fans are silent and there aren’t neon...

Said without a trace of irony or humor – leftists clamoring for “Big Data” on gun owners. The comments are even scarier. These people want this. They desire full state control over every aspect of your life and they don’t see a thing wrong with it. As someone who worked for a company that held one of the largest consumer data warehouses in the world, I can tell you that the idea won’t work. It’s easy to generate shopping habit patterns. Some of the commenters honed in on how Target can tell a...

You don’t win elections or issues unless the populace agrees with your stance. You can’t change the way people think by changing their government, you change their government by changing the way they think. I believe that unfortunately, our current government is no longer responsive to the people’s wishes. Obamacare was hugely unpopular, the phone lines were melted with angry constituents, and yet the weasels voted for it anyway. The problem though is that not enough people cared to fix it,...

But the gun banners aren’t. Look, I know Feinstein’s bill has as much chance at passing as the Democrats proposing a bill stating that the US recognizes Socialism as a failed policy, but remember – they’ll float the most outrageous bills in order to make other bills seem tame in comparison. I also see that the narrative isn’t cooperating and that more people are wondering about the mental health system than they are about gun bans, but that’s still not much consolation. At our Florida Carry...

Today is the day those of us in the Christian faith celebrate the birth of Jesus.  It’s more than the gifts or the turkey, it’s about family and traditions and for a lot of us, the celebration of our faith! I hope that today brings you peace and love, regardless of your belief system. From my house to yours, Merry Christmas. R

It’s from one of my neighbors Hello Everyone; The item below came from one of our members in the community.  We thought it wise to pass it around to everyone: I wanted to let you know that Friday night around 6:45pm my door bell rang and I did not look before opening the door because I was expecting a friend and it was three males with white skeleton masks on.  They were standing side by side shoulder to shoulder.  The Sheriff’s department had gotten other reports of 3...

I’m going to do something I generally loathe to do – I’m going to use a video of me shooting USPSA to illustrate some fallacies in the gun-control arguments, but it means having to pretend for a moment that this is real life and not a bunch of cardboard. First, let me preface the video. This is stage three of December’s match which was my first stage to shoot. The first shot you see is literally the first live round I’ve fired in over 6 months due to injury. So, I’ve not shot in half a year, I...

So, there’s this video going around about an eagle trying to snatch a young child from the ground. When I first watched it, I didn’t really think much more than “Holy shit!” because, well humans are meat based products and although we’re at the top of the food chain, it’s not uncommon for other, lower-rung animals to attempt to make a snack of us. It’s pretty convincing if you don’t go frame by frame, but alas, it’s CGI and thus a hoax. So, I got snookered by a well done video. And I admitted...

I’m feeling feisty. Why? Because I’ve been thinking of our situation and came to some conclusions that other people have said so much more eloquently. First, Sebastian’s point is dead-fucking-on This isn’t our last stand, it’s theirs (I think that was Sebastian, I recall reading it on his blog, but I can’t find it at the minute. Corrections will be made if I’m misattributing it). Second, Oleg The real reason for the gun control talk — in my opinion — is to take the pressure off the...

I won’t lie to you – at 3AM last night, my daughter woke me up because she was cold. I grabbed her an extra blanket, tucked her back in, and then tried to get back to sleep. I couldn’t. We are in for the fight of our lives in the near future. There is an emotional wave right now that our opponents are using to push for gun control laws (none of which have ever stopped a single shooting) and emotion is a powerful, powerful tool. If we, as law abiding gun owners, do not contact our...

Dennis from Dragon Leatherworks is now starting to sell firearms as well as GunUp is getting into the action We are now selling guns at GunUp.com. This is in direct response to a number of notable gun stores suspending the sale of firearms. While the shooting in Connecticut was a horrific, evil act by a mentally ill person, we do not believe that retailers should be abandoning gun owners in this...

12/18/2012 – Citing concerns from viewers over the recent shooting tragedy, CBS has stated that it will remove all guns and references to guns from its prime-time line up, most notably its popular CSI franchise. A spokesperson for CBS said “We feel that in light of the recent elementary school shooting that it would be irresponsible for the station to continue to make money off of shows that revolve around firearms. It would be the height of hypocrisy for networks to cancel shows like...

That’s the result of what needs to be done, not the genesis. The first and foremost thing is to teach the teachers to fight back. Use anything at hand. Make the cost of attacking your charges greater than the attacker expects. Throw things, stab with scissors, use fire extinguishers to cloud their vision then throw it at them. Beat them with chairs, books, rulers, anything. I’d take a bullet for my children, lord knows I’d take a few for kids I don’t even know (if you recall, back in the 90’s...

On a Facebook conversation, had a lady in an argument regarding guns say “I just don’t feel like supporting the 2nd Amendment today” based on the recent shooting. I asked her if she dumped the 1st Amendment as soon as someone got on TV and said something she didn’t agree with, but I got no response. Tragedies do not change the reasons we have rights. Our opponents revel in these tragedies. I’m not saying they’re actually gleeful that children were murdered or that they’re high fiving each other...

They are not constrained by laws, or morality, or a conscience. No sign will turn them back, no fear of penalty will stay their hands. Their crimes against humanity continue long after as other, lesser monsters use their evil as a way to further their agenda of repression. My thoughts and prayers go to the families of the victims of this tragedy.

Florida nearing 1,000,000 active CCW permits The number of active concealed weapons licenses in Florida, already home to more owners of such registered weapons [ed. Uh, no sir, we don’t register weapons here] than any other U.S. state, is expected to reach the 1 million mark next week, a state official said on Wednesday. The Firearm Blog has a link to an innovative AR accessory to ‘get around’ California’s asinine laws The FRS-15 is a nifty looking AR-15 stock designed for the California market. In California you can use pre-ban full capacity magazines, with a standard magazine release, in semi-automatic rifles which do not have a pistol grip, adjustable stock or flash suppressor. The FRS-15 does not have a pistol grip (as defined by the State of California) and is not adjustable. Ugly as sin, but I'm a KRISS...

So, the siren’s call to get those hogs that have been waltzing behind my house keeps getting louder and louder. For one, Florida is being overrun with the damned things and even the lack of limits on hunting hasn’t done a thing. From everything I’ve read, there are no bag limits, no size limits, no date limits, etc. You can hunt with rifles, shotguns, handguns, bows, sharpened sticks, bats, traps, explosives, nerve gas, and low yield nuclear weapons. Well, maybe not the last three, but you get...

Be careful when you play games by adding words that don’t exist in the original context. They can come back to bite you in the ass. What part of “and every other terrible implement” is unclear to these people? Why is it only muskets are covered by the 2nd, but the Internet is covered by the 1st? Why can these people not comprehend that back when the 2nd was written, people owned cannons and fleets of armed merchant ships? Personally owned, mind you – not state owned.
