That people like Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) believe what they are saying or are just comfortable lying, even when caught. 15,000,000 people purchased a product. Suddenly, that product is illegal under law, and this O’Brian wannabe sits here on TV and tells all the Winston Smiths of the world that nobody wanted those plans. And chocolate rations have increased yet again. I take it back, I know what scares me more. Liars I can deal with. However someone who has no problems believing a lie, who...

Picked up a bass today, and pulled my old acoustic out from under several pounds of dust The bass is a Dean Edge 10 which I picked up today and the finish is absolutely GORGEOUS   So now I’m officially a ‘bass player’. Sounds good too. Much easier for me to belt out a bass line than it is trying to do it on a keyboard.

But, it’s a good start! The wife was totally up for me mounting my guitars on the wall (because it gets them off the floor). I had to take down the artwork on the wall to make room for them, so there’s that blank section to the right. I suggested I could put some of the artwork back to which my wife responded “Don’t bother. You’re just going to buy more guitars”. I love my wife. She knows me so well. In fact, that’s what I’m planning on right now. I need a bass guitar. Not because I want to be...

Now that they’re allowed to carry in schools The St. Helens School Board in Oregon lifted a ban that had prevented teachers with concealed carry permits from carrying their guns on campus. School board chairman Marshall Porter said, "The current law in Oregon allows for anyone to concealed carry on school grounds. To exclude our staff seems like they're being punished. They should have a right to protect themselves if they choose." That’s the entire article, but it was impossible to pull less....

iMac is, like her sister, gifted. She’s razor-sharp-smart in different areas than her big sis, primarily math where as Georgia’s strength is literature.  However something Irelyn said this weekend was so utterly profound that I discovered I was at a loss for words. Irelyn is taking guitar lessons, and doing as well as a tiny 8 year old can do. Her hands are so small it makes certain things difficult and she gets frustrated from time to time as is to be expected. We were listening to some...

It’s a thin line posting this as I don’t want to appear to be a blood dancer, but the anti-gun forces tell us constantly that mass murder (and they tend to define ‘mass’ as “any positive integer”) only happens with guns because guns make it easy to kill. This is why that point of view is complete bunk. Evil exists in this world. It’s not created by, nor is it limited to a specific tool. We do not protect our society by pretending somehow, if we can only prevent the wrong tools from being...

Linoge sums up the reason why us gunnies oppose gun laws. It’s well worth your time to read, and that’s not just because I had a hand in the thing. I plan on writing my own version of this at some point even though he did a good job covering the bases.

Looks like INTERPOL thinks maybe a little uncivilization is called for Exclusive: After Westgate, Interpol Chief Ponders 'Armed Citizenry' Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble said today the U.S. and the rest of the democratic world is at a security crossroads in the wake of last month's deadly al-Shabab attack at a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya – and suggested an answer could be in arming civilians. In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Noble said there are really only two choices...

I present to you, the Ibanez EX350 that has been sitting underneath my bed for nearly 2 decades. My wife had actually never seen the thing. I got it back in… 1988 or 1989, I’m not sure as my memory doesn’t go back that far. All I remember is that it was white, so I painted a skeleton on it, which I then decided to go all Miami Vice and paint it using a turquoise stone texture. And then I marbled the face place and headstock. Because it was my guitar, that’s why. Plus… 80’s. At some point, I...

And everyone knows, it’s impossible to make sub-machine guns by hand! Once again, here’s proof positive that criminals do not obey laws, and that laws attempting to disarm them are futile and only end up punishing those who are not a threat in the first place. As always, it’s not about safety, it’s about control.

Before I send off my slide to get CeraKote’d, I need to remove everything that doesn’t need to get painted, and then mask off any area that shouldn’t get painted either. The question is – what parts should be masked? Does anyone have any experience with CeraKote and 1911 slides? Any pictures of how they masked it off would be helpful. I’m getting a good deal from a guy who does tons of firearms, but I gotta do the masking work. He’ll blast and paint but it’s up to me to mark off where it...

At ~2:00 into this video, you will see the depths of human depravity. This… ‘person’ (for a lack of a better word) who just lost two of their nephews in a fire doesn’t regret leaving the babies alone in the house and is more worried about the fact her fucking food stamp card might have gotten singed. Let that sink in for a minute. Strike that. Don’t. Because I did and I’m a seething ball of fury about this. This is why I argue against the welfare state. This is the end result of people who...

For my birthday, my wife’s parents got me a gift certificate to the local music store. So last night I went and picked up a few things; couple of packs of strings, a handful of picks (they are migratory creatures who like to find dark, dusty corners to hibernate in), and a Joe Satriani song book being that I’ve lost my Surfing With the Alien one several moves ago. This is the song that I decided to start working on A year ago, I wouldn’t have even thought to try. Now? I’m actually able to at...

From Arthur Kimes, on Twitter, talking about how federal cronies built and botched Ayn Rand lacked imagination. That our current state of affairs is making Atlas Shrugged look more like a ‘best case scenario’ is depressing, to say the least.

A few weeks ago, all within the course of a weekend, my wife found out her father had been diagnosed with cancer, her aunt had a heart attack, and her doctor called to say her recent tests required a follow up visit. The stress level was beyond comprehension, to say the least. For her aunt, a stint from her previous heart attack had become damaged and required repair. It was minimal, and she was in and out of the hospital in 3 days. For my wife, further tests indicated no issues (she was having...

B) While I’m happily plugging away at what a complete and utter disaster this Obamacare rollout has been from a technological perspective, I want to caution people from thinking this rollout is enough to prove the failure of the overall system. The thing is, there are some really, really technically savvy people out there. Given enough money and time, they...

I spend a lot of time in my own mind. I think about thinking. I question my ideas and motives, consider how my initial response to any information is jaded (for ex. when someone says ‘clip’, I automatically get riled up, even if they’re talking about hair accessories), and generally try to refine my beliefs. It sucks because it’s an endless loop that can never actually be resolved to absolute certainty, and my OCD won’t let it go. Anywho, one of the things I’ve realized in life is that distance...

Tampa has one of those left leaning rags called the TBT. In Atlanta, it was Creative Loafing, but I’m sure you know the kind of dead-tree publication I’m talking about. There’s an issue sitting on the table in the break room that’s complaining about the Florida law that makes it illegal to buy a hearing aid online. I read that the US spent $15,000,000,000 on the drug war last year. 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, 365 of those in a year = 31,536,000 seconds total. 15,000,000,000 / 31,536,000 = $475.65 every second. Tell me again why I should support the War on Some Drugs?

But I get the nagging sensation this administration (not just Obama, but an entire network of ‘progressives’ that have been setting this particular moment up for decades) is hell bent on provoking a minor civil war. Not necessarily shooting, but a bunch of pissed off patriots who finally decide to take back their country, be it via vocal outrage or a march deemed “dangerous to the security of the United States”. The GOP is not going to win this shutdown. They can’t. They are technically in the...

I may not be able to blog. Surprisingly, the traffic getting into work this morning wasn’t bad as I expected. The piles of bodies mostly were on the side of the road, and the roving gangs handing out incandescent light bulbs to school children* were, for the most part, off the main parts of the highway. Since the laws no longer applied, the fully automatic Ma Duce I got to mount to my GTI came in handy when clearing out intersections full of the elderly, rioting over the price gouging of...
