To say Open Carry makes you a target based on one or two incidents every few years is the same as the anti’s saying one or two CCW holders committing crimes represents all of us. My weekend was uneventful

Sure, I made some BBQ and spaghetti sauces from scratch, cleaned the patio, and a few other items around the house, but that was it. Senator Charles Dean needs to hear from you regarding SB234

Tomorrow, the vote to move SB234 out of committee appears to be hinging on Senator Dean. You may recall the non-committal response asking for his support a while back, and word is that he is still wobbly on this issue. Well, I just committed a crime. My oldest is selling Girl Scout cookies at the local grocery store and her mother had forgotten her sash, so I picked up my youngest and headed over. Why this whole thing about shotguns in the library is important

When the anti-gunners bring up articles about a CCW holder getting in trouble with the law, they like to use it as ‘proof’ that CCW permits are a bad idea. Just got off the phone with the City Attorney who is the liaison for the Police Department. He was more than happy to help coordinate with the local patrols to let them know we would have our Open Carry fishing event tomorrow. We spoke for a few minutes about the events. Does fishing for compliments count?

How about hunting for a good bargain? One of the grey areas of Open Carry here in Florida comes from 790.25 section 3h (h) A person engaged in fishing, camping, or lawful hunting or going to or returning from a fishing, camping, or lawful hunting expedition; There's a group of people who apparently set up OC fishing events. I need to find out more about that. I hate fishing, but I'm willing to walk around with some lures and a rod for a while!

Before you get up in arms about this, remember this story. The dude who got robbed while OC'ing doesn't prove that OC'ers are targeted for their decision to openly carry any more than that one story proved open carry prevents Waffle House robberies. That's the gist of many gunnies I read, and it pisses me the hell off. I can't OC because even though I live in a place that has some of the least restrictive carry laws, OC is still verboten.
