I was going to say this
But Larry Correia says is much better As for all of the people out there on the internet having a massive freak out about the government potentially damaging something they love… WELCOME TO THE PARTY. You think this is something new or unusual? Nope. This is just about a topic that you happen to be familiar with. If you fall into that camp, I want you to take a deep breath, step back, and examine all of the other issues in the past that you didn’t know jack squat about, but your knee...

When there is no consequences for your actions
You will do things you know are illegal This is why Florida Carry pushed HB45. The instant lawmakers, politicians, and bureaucrats realized that they were going to be personally held responsible for violating state preemption laws, they dropped their illegal actions like hot potatoes. In Michigan, cops know that what they are doing is a violation of civil rights, but they don’t care because nothing will happen to them. It’s time the citizens of this country demand that everyone be held to the...

Because Florida has solved all the other problems the state is facing
A bill has been introduced to ban pocket knives from any sort of edumacational campus. Seriously. 20 (2)(a) A person shall not possess any firearm, electric 21 weapon or device, destructive device, or other weapon as defined 22 in s. 790.001(13), including a razor blade or box cutter or a 23 common pocketknife, except as authorized in support of school- ...

You know what would have helped in this situation?
ANOTHER LAW! A teen who had been drinking with his friends was arrested after trying to rob people at gunpoint at the site where the state's most tragic shooting spree occurred. Underage carrying, underage drinking, attempted robbery. However, if we make it illegal for law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms… well, this would have still happened but don’t hold your breath on the anti’s admitting that.

FCC to ban imported books
As many people know, during the recent American Library Association national convention, the FCC released a statement declaring their intent to ban the import of specific books into the United States. The new ruling is to be similar to bans in the Weimar Republic back in the 1930’s. The law looks to target certain books based on the number of foreign words or pages in them and while not naming Manga comics directly, it has indicated that books that serve no ‘entertainment purposes’ would not be...

The grade I’m giving you is an F
Because Go Piss Up A Rope wouldn’t fit in the little box. State Representative Kelli Stargel has filed a bill that would require teachers to grade the parents of the students. HB 255 - Parental Involvement and Accountability in the Public Schools states Parental Involvement and Accountability in the Public Schools: Specifies purpose to provide information & tools to parents of preK-12 students & to set standards for parental accountability; specifies causes for student...

Code, Sudoku, and stupid laws
Say Uncle brought my attention to this interesting way to purchase a magazine repair kit There are currently no federal restrictions on the sale of high capacity magazines, but several states do have their own restrictions. High capacity magazines can be disassembled into repair kits for shipment to states with high capacity magazine bans. This allows customers to repair magazines that they already legally own. There is a per magazine service charge for disassembling a magazine into a...

How to tell when someone is lying
When they utter this phrase That's the last thing we want to do, but … So, my lovely town is considering violation of your civil rights to be peachy keen all in the name of DUI prevention. It means if you refuse a breath test during a traffic stop, a judge is on site, and issues a warrant that allows police to perform a mandatory blood test. On the spot. At least the violations are convenient. All in the name of being able to pad the county checkbook DUI prevention. Won’t be long...

A sad state of affairs
Bill Quick opines about the difficulty in retrieving some firearms of his from another state and bringing them back to California. One of the commenters mentions that technically, he could drive to IN, disassemble the firearms, store the parts in separate containers, and not even have a casing of ammo in the car and be within the laws. To which I replied, if we’re having to do all that to obtain weaponry, then it’s kind moot to get them anyway. This is why I fight against gun laws. I’m 100%...

Silence is golden, and often a felony
Say Uncle links to an interesting concept for a suppressor that uses an adapter and a simple oil filter. This is a legal and registered silencer that is patent pending. It is an adapter that uses a disposable expansion chamber aka a car oil filter. You will get hundreds of shots untill it starts to get loud again. Then all you have to do is throw away the used can and thread another on our adapter. Not something I'd want to try. The ATF isn't known for having any common sense or respect...

Such anger over a small chunk of metal
So, I saw this auction for a few Class III lowers. Most had only one bid at around $21. As always, if it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true. Turns out, they're post '86, which means I am not allowed to own one. Think about it. This is just the lower, serialized and stamped in a way that makes it a 'machine gun'. Doesn't matter if you put a bolt action 50 BMG upper on it, it's considered a machine gun. And because that particular piece of aluminum was put into the registry after...

It matters because it could have been me
JayG has a post up (along with a stunning graphic, if I do say so myself) regarding this lovely little story Concerns about an Oregon Department of Transportation employee who purchased several guns after being placed on leave prompted law enforcement across Southern Oregon to step in. Negotiators and a SWAT team from Medford police safely took a man — whose name wasn't released — into protective custody Monday morning in the 500 block of Effie Street, Medford police said in a news...

Quote of the day
Over at Uncle's place In Texas, we have over 2300 separate felonies alone….including 11 involving oysters. Great. Another state I'm not welcome in.
