Liberty cannot survive in anarchy. Government is a necessary evil but one we've grown too accustomed to expanding to fill our needs. The cost of government is more than taxes, it is the very freedoms you enjoy. We must be willing to sacrifice a little to ensure we gain the most. In fact, it's a capitalistic transaction. However, there comes a point where too much government does nothing for your security and well being and in fact becomes harmful. We are well past that point already. It's...

Obama's nebulous message of hope and change resonated in the American psyche and they voiced their desires at the polls. Obama will be the next President of the United States. I am beginning to think Karl Rove is having an affair with Teresa Heinz KerryShe said her husband, as president, would be able to approach the families of slain soldiers and say, "'I did everything I could to prevent this, I'm sorry.' " Everything short of actually voting against the war, but that's a minor detail I guess. "Diplomacy is not about, `I'm telling you.' Diplomacy is about, `what do you think?'" Heinz Kerry said. Lookie here. The Economics Nobel Prize winner thinks taxes should be cut a lot more. I wonder how my boss would spin this? I'm betting that he'd say that Prescott is saying not enough taxes were cut for the poor and yet still somehow twist the logic that the current tax cuts are killing the economy yet more wouldn't. Or something.I am having a very, very, very hard time not printing this out and prancing around his office singing "Nyah nyah na nyah naaaaah".

I strongly support the Fair Tax Initiative. I reeeeeally support it. But one thing that really gets my goat is when people call it a 'regressive' tax because they think it affects the poor. Granted, any flat taxation is technically 'regressive', the system under which HR 25 is designed is anything but.It is totally voluntary. If you don't want to pay tax, don't buy anything. Those who can afford to buy more things pay more taxes. Those who can't pay less. There is a provision in HR25 that...
