From the City of Miami Commission meeting minutes from 11/17/11
George Wysong: Thank you. George Wysong, assistant City attorney, City of Miami. We're respectfully asking you to approve SR.2 for no other reason than to protect my Commissioners here because the statute essentially goes after the Commissioners. It says that you're subject to a $5,000 fine. The City cannot expend public funds to defend you. And ultimately, it could be removal from office. Commissioner Suarez: Move it. Mr. Wysong: That is the power that this Florida Carry group has.

I love it how, when the tables are turned and these people are being held to the same standards that you and I are, they’re whining incessantly about how unfair it is.
While I love that we were mentioned by name, I have to admit – We don’t have this power, you have this power as a Floridian. We have the ability to do this because of those of you who have joined or donated money. If you haven’t already, please join Florida Carry today.
