I think you’ve been put on the defensive on this topic enough that it’s turning into a reflex.

Yes. I have.

I apologize if my instant response to a negative OC story was Pavlovian. It comes from battling gun owners fighting me to keep OC from being legal here in Florida.

To be fair, I wasn't comparing anyone with the Brady Campaign, I was illustrating the tactic of one or two stories being enough to judge the entirety as exactly what we get onto the opposition for.

I only recognize it due to personal experience with the same reflex. Just trying to help you curb it faster than I did. It took running into a true "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" type at a gun rights thing to see where I was drifting.

I try to remind myself that, in all aspects of OC, I am being a salesman. I'm selling gun rights, and selling the image of gun owners being calm and reserved. Most importantly, I'm not trying to convince everyone to open carry. I'm just trying to convince them to not really care either way if I do.

Oh, I also agree that some of the worst ones to deal with are other gun owners. Whether it's OC, or any form of permitless carry, there are a lot that seem to feel that everyone else needs to meet the standard of training, or number of government hurdles, that they met.

One of the guys I teach with has what I consider the best attitude to have for someone that won't OC. He thinks it's stupid, tactically; but he will throw a fit the minute someone talks about outlawing it.

Oh, I'll fight to help you get OC, I just would eschew it, personally.

It'd be nice if people would help us up in MD, too. For any kind of carry.

Hypothetical... Maryland is forced by the feds to allow some form of carry, and they opt for OC? Hellz yeah I will OC like a BOSS.
