Is sometimes paved with potholes and detours. I guess rejection letters are to be expected. Got this in the inbox today.
Dear Mr. Allen, We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your letter regarding a possible sponsorship from Jennings. We watched the enclosed video (although it took us a while to find a video player that accepted VHS tapes) and have come to the conclusion that, as a company, we do not feel your shooting style is conducive to the level of quality that Jennings represents. In fact, we’re not sure you managed to hit anything besides the Range Officer and that was only because he was in the wrong place while you were (we assume) trying to reholster your pistol. Jennings has a reputation we feel could be tarnished if associated with… what exactly were you trying to do with that barrel and Texas Star? Some of the staff were concerned you may have been experiencing some sort of a seizure. Regardless, the sheer numbers of failures in that one string were enough to concern us that people might find our firearms too unreliable. In fact, nobody here had ever seen a magazine get caught in the ejection port before. We’re still trying to figure that one out. While Jennings cannot offer you a sponsorship, we can at least offer you this restraining order and a ‘cease and desist’ letter in the vain hope that you’ll abstain from ever attempting to fire another pistol ever again much less even mention our company’s name in polite company. Sincerely, [Name Withheld Due To Fear] Jennings Firearm Company
