Part of my design drive that I’m in the midst of (to those in the queue, you’re time is coming up. If you’ve not already, send me a detailed description of what you’re wanting) is an attempt to pull in a little bit more cash to pick up some extraneous stuff I’m going to need to shoot USPSA that, while not required, are nice to have.

One of those things is a decent range bag. Right now, I use a duffle bag I got from a job back in the mid-90’s. To say it’s inadequate is… uh… inadequate. But, never having a range bag, I’m not sure what the deciding factors are or should be. I’ve gotten tired of not being able to tote around enough guns and ammo (I usually end up carrying something in another arm), the shoulder strap would be more comfortable if it were made of barbed wire, and the side pockets are just sturdy enough to not come unzipped when filled with marshmallows.

So, dear readers – sell me on your favorite range bags. Not just brands, but the features you find the most useful (as well as what are gimmicks to be avoided). To the manufacturers who might read here from time to time, well, let’s just say it doesn’t take candlelight and dinner to woo me.

Talk to me about your perfect range bag.
