What happens when you force lawmakers to follow the law?

Lots and lots and lots of things.

It’s like Christmas just keeps coming earlier and earlier. I mean, really, what’s better to stuff your stocking with than the wailing and gnashing of lawmakers’ teeth?

I love how they're acting like this is some "New" law rather than some 20+ year old law that they're now finally being forced to comply with.

Criminals don't like being forced to follow the law. Imagine that!

Proof positive that if you want a law to affect a politician's behavior, there has to be punishment for him in breaking it.

What, we have to all follow the same laws? What's next, people being responsible for their actions?

I'm not sure what's worse (a) acting like this 25 year old law is new, or (b) the repeated use of "permit".

Vice Mayor Aaron Campbell is a retired Major from the Miami-Dade police department, and as such carries a weapon in places where even CCW holders are prohibited (like commission meetings) thanks to LEOSA.

He was made famous in 1997 for getting in a physical altercation with an Orange County deputy, because he was angry that the deputy was writing him a traffic ticket even after being told that he was a cop. He accused the cop of racism. He was convicted of resisting arrest in 1998.

A true "only one," a cop/politician who is convinced of his own superiority, and convinced that the rules do not apply to him, he also apparently has a bit of a problem controlling his temper and has violent tendencies, yet has no problem lecturing the rest of us on how we shouldn't have guns.
